Technical Aspects<br />

• Turnouts are manufactured in all rail sizes.<br />

Principally 39E1, 56E1, 115RE, 60E1,<br />

• Switch (point) rails can be either<br />

asymmetric or full-depth vignole type to suit<br />

our customers’ requirements<br />

• All rail grades are catered for<br />

• Head-hardened asymmetric rails are<br />

quenched after forging to maintain hardness<br />

• Tangential, secant <strong>and</strong> special geometries<br />

• Supplied with Austenitic Manganese Steel<br />

(AMS) centre-block crossings with integral<br />

carbon steel welded legs for welding<br />

directly into track<br />

• Crossings can also be supplied<br />

explosively depth hardened to over<br />

400 BHN, which gives an immediate<br />

service benefit<br />

• Turnouts are supplied with softwood,<br />

hardwood or concrete crossing bearers.<br />

Concrete bearers (ties) can be pre-stressed<br />

through-bearers, modular “split-bearers” or<br />

twin-block design<br />

• Turnouts are manufactured to our clients’<br />

preferred switch operating <strong>and</strong> locking<br />

devices <strong>and</strong> are compatible with various<br />

supplementary detector options<br />

• Our engineers interface with electrification<br />

<strong>and</strong> signalling engineers to ensure<br />

compliant 3rd <strong>and</strong> 4th rail<br />

electrification design<br />
