The project lasted 3 years <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> involved the Promoti<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> implementati<strong>on</strong> of a<br />

prototype system for the producti<strong>on</strong> of high quality compost from<br />

biodegradable <strong>household</strong> <strong>waste</strong> separated at source. The <strong>household</strong>ers were<br />

provided with the prototype system as well as with additives that were used for<br />

the efficient development of the process. In particular, the <strong>household</strong>ers fed the<br />

system with the appropriate biodegradable <strong>waste</strong> generated at their kitchen<br />

together with Greek zeolite of a specific particle size <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> dose in order to<br />

eliminate the odor <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> improve the quality characteristics of the final product.<br />
