Recycling Bins which are emptied every fortnight. These bins are for<br />

green bags <strong>on</strong>ly. If the bins c<strong>on</strong>tain general <strong>waste</strong> the entire c<strong>on</strong>tents of<br />

the bin ends up in l<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>fill<br />

In some cases green bags from compound/storage areas are collected.<br />

Most management companies prefer to use bins to keep the<br />

compound/storage areas tidy but as some compound/storage areas are<br />

not large enough to c<strong>on</strong>tain bins, the green bags have to be collected<br />

loosely.<br />

Every <strong>household</strong> in Swansea can recycle paper, glass <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> cans. The way we<br />

collect recycling from flats is slightly different to how we collect it from other<br />

<strong>household</strong>s as most flats have bin store rooms or compounds.. Green bags are<br />

for paper, glass <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> cans <strong>on</strong>ly. Green bags c<strong>on</strong>taining materials that we do not<br />

currently collect for recycling are not collected.<br />

Glass, paper, cans <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> card are collected <strong>on</strong> a fortnightly basis from the<br />

kerbside in a green semi-transparent bag. The collecti<strong>on</strong>s are made <strong>on</strong><br />

the GREEN WEEK collecti<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Plastics are collected <strong>on</strong> a fortnightly basis from the kerbside in a pink<br />

semi-transparent bag. The collecti<strong>on</strong>s are made <strong>on</strong> the PINK WEEK<br />

collecti<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Garden <strong>waste</strong> is collected <strong>on</strong> a fortnightly basis from the kerbside in a<br />

white bag. The collecti<strong>on</strong>s are made <strong>on</strong> the GREEN WEEK collecti<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Kitchen <strong>waste</strong> is collected weekly from the kerbside in a green bin. The<br />

collecti<strong>on</strong>s are made EVERY WEEK.
