The municipal <strong>organic</strong> <strong>waste</strong> is source separated <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> used as a substrate<br />

together with grease trap removal sludge from instituti<strong>on</strong>al kitchens <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

restaurants <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> ley crops from the agriculture in the biogas plant Gryta. The<br />

sludge in the <strong>waste</strong>water treatment plant in Västerås is not co-digested with<br />

other substrates, since there are difficulties holding a high-quality residue when<br />

sewage sludge is used.<br />

Hence there are two producti<strong>on</strong> plants, but <strong>on</strong>ly <strong>on</strong>e upgrading plant. The<br />

biogas produced at the <strong>waste</strong>water treatment plant is lead through an 8,5 km<br />

l<strong>on</strong>g gas pipe to the upgrading plant at Gryta. The upgraded biogas is<br />

distributed through gas pipes to the <strong>on</strong>ly public refueling stati<strong>on</strong> in Västerås<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> to the fast filling bus depot, (Picture 41.). Some of the produced CBG is
