The business majors (BSBA) of the Hasan School of<br />
Business are accredited by AACSB International – The<br />
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of<br />
Business. AACSB is a not-for-profit corporation of<br />
educational institutions, corporations and other<br />
organizations devoted to the promotion and improvement<br />
of higher education in business administration<br />
and management. Organized in 1916, AACSB<br />
International is the premier accrediting agency for<br />
bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs in<br />
business administration and accounting.<br />
Mission<br />
The mission of the Hasan School of Business is to<br />
provide quality undergraduate and graduate business<br />
education for a diverse student population. Our<br />
educational programs prepare our students to become<br />
business and industry leaders through our strong<br />
professional focus on contemporary business<br />
practices, managerial and entrepreneurial skills,<br />
current practices in computer information systems and<br />
information technology, and the global economy. Our<br />
faculty members remain current in their fields by<br />
engaging in intellectual pursuits that focus on applied<br />
discipline-based scholarship and instructional development.<br />
Our outreach activities, developed in partnership<br />
with the community, serve to enhance the quality of life<br />
and economic well-being in southeastern <strong>Colorado</strong>.<br />
Undergraduate Majors<br />
The Hasan School of Business offers undergraduate<br />
degrees in accounting, business management,<br />
business management with an information technology<br />
emphasis, business management with a marketing<br />
emphasis, computer information systems, and<br />
economics. Graduates will be able to successfully<br />
compete for appropriate entry-level positions in private<br />
firms, non-profit organizations or government. The<br />
accounting major prepares majors for professional<br />
careers in accounting. The knowledge and skills<br />
acquired in the business management major can be<br />
used in a number of areas including human resource<br />
and operations management. The business management<br />
major with an emphasis in marketing prepares<br />
the graduate to successfully promote and sell goods<br />
and services. The CIS major degree prepares<br />
graduates for successful careers in the computer<br />
information systems and information technology (IT)<br />
fields. Economics majors are particularly well prepared<br />
to enter graduate programs in business, in addition to<br />
assuming entry-level positions in business firms, nonprofit<br />
organizations or government, as well as,<br />
positions in banking, financial analysis, and related<br />
financial services industries.<br />
NOTE: Students planning to take professional<br />
certification exams in any field are encouraged to<br />
consult with their faculty advisor to understand any<br />
additional requirements.<br />
The Hasan School of Business has identified the<br />
following learning goals for general knowledge and<br />
skills:<br />

ideas, observations, conclusions and recommendations<br />
to others in a variety of professional<br />
settings using appropriate written and oral<br />
communication skills.<br />
• Values, Ethics, and Professionalism: Effectively<br />
identify goals and principles of ethical practice;<br />
adhere to principles of professional conduct and<br />
