CSU-<strong>Pueblo</strong><br />
GOVERNANCE<br />
CSU-<strong>Pueblo</strong> is governed by the Board of Governors of<br />
the <strong>Colorado</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> System, which also<br />
governs <strong>Colorado</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> in Fort Collins. The<br />
<strong>Colorado</strong> Commission of Higher Education, the central<br />
policy and coordinating board for all public institutions,<br />
establishes policy on legislative, academic, and fiscal<br />
matters.<br />
ACCREDITATION<br />
<strong>Colorado</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>-<strong>Pueblo</strong> is accredited by the<br />
Higher Learning Commission, a Commission of the<br />
North Central Association of Colleges and Schools,<br />

Individual programs approved by specialized<br />
accreditation agencies include: athletic training, the<br />
Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training<br />
Education (AATE); chemistry, the American Chemical<br />
Society; civil, electronics, and mechanical engineering<br />
technology, the Technology Accreditation Commission<br />
of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and<br />
Technology (ABET); industrial engineering, the<br />
Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET;<br />
education, the <strong>Colorado</strong> <strong>State</strong> Board of Education and<br />
the Teacher Education Accreditation Council; music,<br />
the National Association of the Schools of Music;<br />
nursing, the National League for Nursing Accrediting<br />
Commission (NLNAC); and social work, the Council of<br />
Social Work Education. The Hasan School of Business<br />
is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate<br />
Schools of Business (AACSB) International.<br />

<strong>Colorado</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>-<strong>Pueblo</strong> is committed to<br />

THE CAMPUS<br />
CSU-<strong>Pueblo</strong> spans more than 275 acres on the<br />
northeast edge of <strong>Pueblo</strong>, a culturally diverse city of<br />
more than 100,000 in the colorful Pikes Peak region of<br />
southern <strong>Colorado</strong>. Located on the Front Range of the<br />
Rocky Mountains, the <strong>University</strong> enjoys an average of<br />
320 days of sunshine each year. From sailing on Lake<br />
<strong>Pueblo</strong> and whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River<br />
to skiing and snowboarding in the nearby mountains,<br />
the university’s 4,000-plus students enjoy a wide range<br />
of outdoor activities. Belmont Residence Hall houses<br />
nearly 500 students in three wings that are joined by a<br />
large commons area. The <strong>University</strong> Village at Walking<br />
Stick is an on-campus apartment community for<br />
sophomores, juniors, and seniors.<br />
EMERGENCY CLOSURE POLICY<br />
Due to extreme weather conditions, energy resource<br />
reductions or situations impacting normal operating<br />
conditions, it may be necessary to curtail or shut down<br />
university operations. The Emergency Closure Policy<br />
(ECP) will be followed in all CSU-<strong>Pueblo</strong> emergency<br />
