CSU-<strong>Pueblo</strong><br />
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology<br />
Students must complete all of the major degree<br />
requirements. In addition, students must complete the<br />
foreign language requirement as stated in the<br />
Academic Policies section of the <strong>University</strong> catalog.<br />
This requirement includes completion of the second<br />
semester of a foreign language, or completion of FL<br />
100 and ANTHR/ENG 106, or completion of the first<br />
and second semester of American Sign Language.<br />
Major Requirements<br />
A total of 42 hours in psychology is required for the<br />
major. Psychology majors should consult a faculty<br />
advisor who will assist in selecting psychology courses<br />
to complete the major.<br />

All students are required to declare a minor or earn 18<br />
credits in the Humanities and/or the Social Sciences<br />
(ANTHR, ART, CS, ECON, ENG, FL, FRN, GEOG,<br />
GER, HIST, ITL, MCCNM, MUS, PHIL, POLSC, RUS,<br />
SOC, SPCOM, SPN, WS) beyond their major requirements<br />
and the general education requirements. Please<br />
note, PSYCH courses cannot be included in this total.<br />
Prerequisites<br />
Students should be aware that there are prerequisites<br />
to some courses. For instance, it is important to note<br />
that 2 years of high-school algebra (or equivalent) is<br />
the prerequisite for Psychology 207 & 209. Successful<br />
completion of Psychology 207 is the prerequisite for<br />
Psychology 209. Psychology 401 should not be taken<br />
until the senior year, preferably in the last semester<br />
before graduation.<br />
Note:<br />
A maximum of 6 credit hours of field experience and/or<br />
individual projects may be applied towards the<br />
required 42 total hours in psychology.<br />
