Professional Military Education (PME) Requirements<br />
To receive a commission as a Second Lieutenant in<br />
the U.S. Army and to graduate with a Minor in Military<br />
Science students must also complete a course in the<br />
following area to receive credit for their Professional<br />
Military Education (PME) requirements. Further<br />
information on this requirement will be provided to the<br />
students during contracting into the Army ROTC<br />
program.<br />

Scholarship Information<br />
The Army ROTC Scholarship Program provides<br />
financial assistance for the education and training of<br />
highly motivated men and women who desire to<br />
pursue careers as commissioned officers in the U.S.<br />
Army after graduation with a bachelor’s degree. Four,<br />
three- and two-year scholarships are available to<br />
qualified candidates. The scholarship pays for school<br />
tuition, books, certain fees, and provides the student<br />
with a monthly, tax-free stipend of between $300 and<br />
$500 per month for up to 10 months per year.<br />

The Music Department of <strong>Colorado</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>-<br />
<strong>Pueblo</strong> seeks to promote excellence in musicianship<br />
and to equip students for a career in music. The major<br />
in music leads to a degree of Bachelor of Arts (BA).<br />
Mission, Goals and Objectives<br />
The mission of the Department of Music at <strong>Colorado</strong><br />
<strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>-<strong>Pueblo</strong> is to prepare undergraduate<br />
students to function professionally in their chosen field<br />
of music within the larger context of a liberal education,<br />
to provide artistic enrichment for the community, and to<br />
serve as an artistic resource.<br />
The goals of the Department of Music are:<br />
• To prepare students to function professionally in<br />
their field of music,<br />
• To provide appropriate musical experiences for<br />
students in the liberal arts program,<br />
• To prepare students to pursue advanced study in<br />
their respective areas,<br />
• To encourage in all students the development of<br />
musical sensitivity and an understanding of the<br />
aesthetic process,<br />
• To provide for the <strong>University</strong> and community the<br />
enrichment afforded by a variety of musical<br />
experiences.<br />
The objectives of the Department of Music used to<br />
accomplish the goals outlined above include:<br />
• To offer courses and related experiences of an<br />
appropriate nature and quality and of sufficient<br />
breadth to allow the student adequate opportunity<br />
to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills.<br />
• To offer and encourage student participation in a<br />
variety of ensembles and other instructional<br />
opportunities, allowing for varying musical tastes,<br />
experiences, and abilities,<br />
• To sufficiently challenge each music student to<br />
progress beyond the minimum requirements of a<br />
degree program, and to provide opportunities for<br />
growth beyond classroom instruction,<br />
• To present music in a manner that promotes it as<br />
an art form,<br />
• To offer and promote quality performance and<br />
instruction, and to serve as an artistic resource.<br />
Requirements<br />
GPA<br />
Students are required to complete all major and minor<br />
courses with a grade of C or better and to maintain a<br />
cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.<br />
