Accreditation<br />
The <strong>Colorado</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>-<strong>Pueblo</strong> Athletic Training<br />
Education Program is accredited by the Commission<br />
on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (AATE).<br />
Competitive Admission Policy<br />
The Athletic Training Education Program is highly<br />
competitive. Entry into the curriculum is not<br />
guaranteed upon completion of the pre-professional<br />
phase (the first two years of coursework). The<br />
determining factors include the success of the preprofessional<br />
experience, meeting all academic<br />
prerequisites, and number of students enrolled in the<br />
program. The number of students admitted into the<br />
program varies from year to year.<br />
Application Criteria/Procedure<br />
The following criteria must be met to be considered for<br />
admission into the <strong>Colorado</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>-<strong>Pueblo</strong><br />
Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP)<br />
• Completion of the <strong>Colorado</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>-<br />
<strong>Pueblo</strong> Athletic Training Education Application.<br />
The student can obtain the application form from<br />
the program director. Completed applications are<br />
due to the program director by March 1st;<br />
• Completion of EXHP 279, 232, 260, and BIOL<br />
223, 223L, 224, 224L. (EXHP 232 and 260 with a<br />
B or higher, all others with a C or higher grade);<br />
• An overall grade point average of 2.6 or higher;<br />
• A declared Exercise Science, Health Promotion,<br />
and Recreation major;<br />
• Proof of current First Aid and CPR for Professional<br />
Rescuer Certification;<br />
• Documentation of observation hours and appropriate<br />
evaluation forms (from off-campus observation<br />
and EXHP 279);<br />
