Engine Oil The generator is shipped WITHOUT OIL in the engine. Place the generator on a level surface. Add enough of the recommended oil to bring the oil level to the top of the oil filler neck. Use a 4-stroke motor oil that meets the requirements for API service category SJ or later (or equivalent). AMBIENT TEMPERATURE OIL FILLER HOLE SAE 10W-30 is recommended for general, all-temperature use. Other viscosities in the chart may be used when the temperature in your area is within the indicated range. Do not overfill the engine with oil.
