Sing to the Lord a new song;
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, bless his name.
Psalm 96
Opening Prayer:
Lord, we gather today mindful of your sacred presence. Instil in us your wisdom so
that we may continue in our service to guide your children in the journey of learning.
Help us to listen, to share, to grow, to learn and to be open to the challenges and
changes that life presents us. Help us to be like St. Peter, the rock. Our faith is the
rock that we cling to.
We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Amen
Leader: Blessed are those whose lives are filled with concern for children, their wellbeing
and their happiness.
Response: They are like a rock on which faith is built.
Leader: Blessed are those who care for our school communities and support the
educators and families.
Response: They are like a rock on which faith is built.
Leader: Blessed are the students who play, learn, create, question and experience
what is put before them.
Response: They are like a rock on which faith is built.
Leader: Blessed are the believers and those who walk our shared journey of faith.
Response: They are like a rock on which faith is built. Amen
Prayers of Intention:
Please answer the following prayers with ‘Lord Hear Our Prayer’:
For the Church, that it may continue to be a light in the world and a rock for
humanity. We pray to the Lord.
For the suffering in all parts of the world and especially for those in Southeast Asia
and Africa. We pray to the Lord.
For all educators and for those of us gathered here that we may thrive in our mission
to facilitate the learning of others. We pray to the Lord.
For loved ones that we know of who are sick. We pray to the Lord.
Let us join together in the prayer that our Saviour taught us.
Our Father …
Closing Prayer:
God, our Father, you can do all things. You make all things possible with your love, your
compassion and your openness to possibilities. You have revealed Yourself to us in your Son,
Jesus Christ. Help us to follow his example of unconditional love. We seek your guidance in all
we do and we cling to the rock that is our faith. Amen

Closing Song:
How Can I Keep From Singing? (Traditional Quaker Hymn)
My life goes on in endless song above earth’s lamentation.
I hear the real though far off hymn that hails a new creation.
No storm can shake my inmost calm while to that rock I’m clinging.
Since love is Lord of heaven and earth, how can I keep from singing?
Through all the tumult and the strife, I hear the music ringing.
It sounds and echoes in my soul; how can I keep from singing? No storm...
What though the tempest ‘round me roar, I hear the truth, it liveth;
What though the darkness ‘round me close, songs in the night it giveth. No storm...
