How Does Your Information Get
Into OutTouch?
If something looks cool and
seems like it is the tool of the year,
but is complicated to use, I know
from experience it will fail. The
makers of OutTouch know this as
well. So, the way OutTouch works
is through a web interface. Changing
the screen, setting up announcements,
swapping videos, etc., is as
simple as using one of those template
website services. You can even
set up announcements to stop rotating
into the display when the date
of the event has passed. This means
that an event for Saturday night
will not be displayed or promoted
on Sunday morning. No late nights
making changes to OutTouch!
Before you think you can’t afford
a cool touch screen service like OutTouch, be creative. Several churches using the service make a portion
of the screen available for rotating ads from local companies that have members attending their church.
Those companies pay a fee for that advertisement space, which can offset the cost of using OutTouch! It’s
just possible that those who understanding the importance of marketing to your members will help you provide
this valuable service for free!
What Do Others Using OutTouch Have to Say?
Bobby Hancock, President/CEO Shared Church Services Ministries – “Several years ago, I met
Richard Halstead, who was then President of a local Telecommunications Company. Shared Church Services
worked with Richard to develop a “partnership for success” relationship. The quality of that relationship
developed a lasting, personal friendship. When Richard approached SCS to discuss his new company – Velogin
– I knew immediately that SCS wanted to be a “partner”. The primary reason was a trust in Richard’s
talents and ability and knowing that the Velogin Mission would be similar to the SCS Mission and Ministry
– providing churches and Christian organizations access to product quality, service and group pricing – savings!
After several months of working together, the friendship has been renewed and the partnership has
already proven to be mutually beneficial. The Velogin technology, and Richard’s commitment to excellence,
is already serving SCS member’s, who now have access to a state of the art program at national group pricing.”
Jim Boyea, Church Administrator, Dunwoody United Methodist Church – “We initially installed
our system with the idea that it would primarily be used on Sunday mornings to direct visitors. We started
out putting our emphasis on getting our meetings scheduled in the system. The web interface and the ability
to input information far in advance has provided a real time savings for us. Soon after installation we began
to look at our statistics and learned that the monitors are being used far more than we expected and the reaction
from our congregation has been overwhelmingly positive.
