California Status<br />

No special status has been assigned to spreading navarretia by the State of California.<br />

Regional Status<br />

Spreading navarretia is a covered species in the following southern California NCCP<br />

documents:<br />

• MHCP, City of Carlsbad Habitat Management Plan.<br />

• MSCP, City of Chula Vista Subarea Plan.<br />

• MSCP, City of La Mesa Subarea Plan.<br />

• MSCP, City of Poway Subarea Plan.<br />

• MSCP, City of San Diego Subarea Plan.<br />

• MSCP, County of San Diego Subarea Plan.<br />

• SDG&E.<br />

• Western Riverside MSHCP.<br />

The CNPS identifies spreading<br />

navarretia as rare, threatened, or<br />

endangered in California and<br />

elsewhere (List 1B) and seriously<br />

endangered in California (Threat<br />

Code 1) (CNPS 2008).<br />

MCBCP Status<br />

The <strong>Base</strong> is in consultation with<br />

USFWS regarding monitoring and<br />

management of upland habitats and<br />

species basewide including vernal<br />

pools occupied by spreading<br />

navarretia. The <strong>Base</strong> has instituted<br />

measures for avoidance and<br />

minimization of impacts to vernal<br />

pools and all vernal pools species<br />

including spreading navarretia.<br />

These measures are published as<br />

programmatic instructions for users<br />

and residents of the <strong>Base</strong> via <strong>Camp</strong><br />

<strong>Pendleton</strong>’s <strong>Base</strong> Order P3500.1M<br />

(Range and Training Regulations).<br />

information, etc., for spreading<br />

navarretia are located in Appendix<br />

F, Section F.11.<br />
