Christmas shoot December 6th 2008
We had another great day of Waikato weather and some good
shooting with just a little breeze in the afternoon.
Single Barrel A Grade (L-R) Ross Roy, William Rooney,
Lindsay Rodgers
A big thank you to the Waikato club for allowing us to host
the event at their facilities in conjunction with their own
Christmas shoot. Peter Krippner for cashiering at the office,
Paul Schmidt for mowing around the lanes, Graeme Williams
for his help setting up and loading the trap, Mike Holmes
and Bryce Schou for their help with target setting as well
as everyone who helped with scoring, refereeing and trap
loading during the day.
We condensed the program to just 150 singles with 3 visits
to the trap. There was only one shoot-off between Gordon
Tucker and Paul Schmidt for the ham in A grade. Gordon was
heard commenting that perhaps his training routine the night
before wasn’t quite up to scratch…
January ATA shoot at Thames Gun Club
This month we had our first shoot at Thames. What a great
start on new grounds. Firstly the ATA would like to extend a
big thank you to Don McCarthy for his help measuring and
pegging the fields and Richard Boenders for measuring the
elevation so we could get the target height consistent across
the four fields. Also, thank you to the Thames crew for their
help on the day loading traps and helping with refereeing and
scoring. Diane Boenders and Sally van de Wetering for running
the office and cashiering the shoot. We also need to say “thank
you” to the club for the very nice condition of the grounds.
What a pleasure to work and shoot with such nice facilities.
