nearly twenty years, Lesly Maxwell has been
recognized for her ability to integrate architecture with
interior design. Sophistication and luxury are hallmarks of
Maxwell’s signature style. Her design philosophy features
a refined use of materials, textures, lighting and color.
While some designers tap into one predominant style, this
interior designer creates interiors that are not strictly
traditional or strictly contemporary. “Design should
transcend the obvious,” she says. Maxwell creates room
interiors according to their use, analyzing from the outset
how to make a room work as a successful living space.
Drawing a fine line between stylish and livable, she
contends that issues of space planning and comfort
surpass the joys of stylish decor. “I try to lead my clients
to make the fundamental and practical decisions first,”
she points out. “Then we can have fun with the fabrics and
furnishings.” Maxwell has designed projects throughout
South Florida, from elegant oceanfront residences to
casual weekend retreats. Her interior design skills have
extended beyond, as well, to Aspen, Chicago, Costa Rica,
the Hamptons, and the Bahamas. The work of Lesly
Maxwell Interiors has been featured in Florida
Architecture, Florida Design and Luxury Florida Homes,
among other publications.
