Description<br />

Multiflux-2 Linear Connectors allow multiple tubing lines to be simultaneously connected<br />

in a small space with precise alignment of flow paths. The Linear Connector 7-way is ideal<br />

for microfluidics or general purpose lab-use and provides fast and reliable connection of<br />

0.8 mm O.D. tubing. The in-built tube restraint mechanism holds tubes securely in place<br />

for robust operation. <strong>Dolomite</strong> has a range of compatible Multiflux-2 Interfaces to enable<br />

the connector to be used with microfluidic chips. Alternatively, compatible interfaces (see<br />

design guide) can be designed to allow the connector to be used in any instrument or<br />

system to simplify fluidic routing and reduce assembly time.<br />

The Linear Connector 7-way Microchannel is designed for optimum alignment of tubing<br />

bores to microfluidic channels. This high performance connection features micro-scale<br />

pins, which locate directly into the microfluidic chip to provide the alignment.<br />

The Linear Connector 7-way In-line consists of 7 individual tubing to tubing connections<br />

using the Linear Connector 7-way and Linear Connector 7-way Female. This provides a<br />

multi-way continuous flow path which is quick to connect and disconnect.<br />

The Linear Connector Funnel enables a single 1.6mm O.D. tube to be connected to a<br />

series of fluid ports on a microfluidic chip. It is typically used in conjunction with Telos 7-<br />

channel chips where the single tube feeds seven input fluid holes or collects from seven<br />

output channels. The Linear Connector Funnel is compatible with Multiflux-2 interfaces<br />

and can be used in combination with the Linear Connector 7-way female allowing one<br />

1.6mm O.D. tube to be connected directly to seven 0.8mm O.D. output tubes.<br />

The Linear Connector Seal 7-way (FKM) (Part No. 3200299) is used together with the<br />

Linear Connector 7-way (Part No. 3200148) to provide fast and reliable connection of 0.8<br />

mm O.D. tubing.<br />

The Funnel FFKM Seal (Part No. 3200371) is a spare seal for the Linear Connector<br />

Funnel (Part No. 3200362). Note FFKM is not compatible with Fluorinated oils.<br />

It is simple to design a Multiflux-2 compatible interface to utilise the benefits of a Multiflux-<br />

2 multi-way connection in any fluidic system. The diagram below shows the required<br />

geometry and position of the M3 threaded holes with counterbore to accept the connector<br />

thumb screws. An optional orientation pin can be added to the right hand hole of the<br />

interface to ensure that the connector cannot be accidentally connected in the reverse<br />

orientation.<br />
