23. Considering all the aspects we finally hold that a person after<br />

divorcing his wife is bound to maintain her on a reasonable scale<br />

beyond the period of iddat for an indefinite period, that is to say, till<br />

she loses the status of a divorcee by remarrying another person.<br />

24. In the result this Rule is disposed of without cost on the terms<br />

that the judgment and decree dated 20.4.92 passed by the learned<br />

District Judge, Comilla, in Family Appeal No. 2 of 1991 are set aside<br />

and those dated 30.10.90 passed by the learned Judge of the Family<br />

Court and the learned Assistant Judge, Daudkandi, in Family Court<br />

Suit No. 60 of 1988 are restored with the modification that the<br />

plaintiff-opposite party No. 1 Shamsun Nahar Begum and the<br />

plaintiff-opposite party No. 2 Shaon Mia shall get maintenance at<br />

Taka 1,000.00 each per month from the defendant-petitioner Md.<br />

Hefzur Rahman till respectively she remarries and he attains majority.<br />
