Recent Private/Public Investment<br />

Lynnwood Convention <strong>Center</strong>: A $32 million dollar, state of the art facility, located in<br />

the heart of Lynnwood’s City <strong>Center</strong>, opened in April 2005. The 56,000 sf facility has<br />

34,000 sf of functional banquet and meeting space.<br />

Interchange Improvements to I-5 and I-405: Lynnwood has easy freeway access to<br />

I-5 and I-405 and has recently completed interchange improvements at I-5 and I-405.<br />

Over $160 million in new freeway improvements are proposed over the next five years<br />

to enhance access to Lynnwood and improve traffic flow.<br />

Lynnwood Transit <strong>Center</strong>: The recently expanded tansit center is the transit hub<br />

of South Snohomish County. This project includes direct access HOV ramps to I-5,<br />

improved access to local streets, customer service center and up to 1,200 parking<br />

spaces. This regional facility opened in 2004 and is served by Sound Transit,<br />

Metro and Community Transit.<br />

Alderwood Mall: A super-regional retail, entertainment and lifestyle center completed<br />

its expansion and renovation in 2005. With 1.4 million square feet and over 130 store<br />

and restaurants, Alderwood includes a new Nordstrom, a state of the art 16 screen<br />

movie complex and 50 new retailers, boutiques and dining offerings. Alderwood<br />

anchors regional shopping in Snohomish County and North King County trade area.<br />

Retail sales in the Lynnwood trade area are projected to increase by $1 billion in the<br />

next 20 years.<br />

Lynnwood in located just minutes from skiing, watersports, hiking, wild life viewing<br />

and beautiful Puget Sound beaches. A variety of housing types, excellent schools and<br />

easy access to services and retail make the quality of life unbeatable.<br />
