Dave Brown Director of Player Personnel<br />

Dave Brown starts his seventh season as director of player personnel for the <strong>Flyers</strong>, a<br />

position he has held since June 2006. Prior to rejoining the <strong>Flyers</strong>, Brown was a scout<br />

for the New York Rangers for eight seasons, serving as head professional scout for three<br />

years (2003-04 through 2005-06) and a pro scout for five seasons (1998-99 through 2002-03).<br />

Brown joined the Rangers after serving as an assistant coach for the <strong>Flyers</strong> for two seasons<br />

(1996-97 and 1997-98).<br />

A native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Brown played parts of 11 seasons with the <strong>Flyers</strong>,<br />

during which time he registered 39 goals and 39 assists for 78 points and 1,382 penalty<br />

minutes in 552 games. He is sixth on the team’s All-Time List in penalty minutes.<br />

Over a career of 14 seasons in the NHL (1982-83 through 1995-96) Brown recorded 45 goals<br />

and 52 assists for 97 points and 1,789 penalty minutes in 729 career games with the <strong>Flyers</strong><br />

(1982-83 to 1988-89 and 1991-92 through 1994-95), Edmonton Oilers (1988-89 through 1990-91)<br />

and San Jose Sharks (1995-96). He won a Stanley Cup with the Oilers in 1990.<br />

Brown was selected by the <strong>Flyers</strong> in the seventh round (140th overall) of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. He shares his home in Mullica<br />

Hill, New Jersey, with his three Yorkshire Terriers-Gretchen, Elsa and Mabel.<br />

Jim McCrossin Athletic Trainer/Strength & Conditioning Coach<br />

Jim McCrossin is the Athletic Trainer/Strength and Conditioning Coach of the <strong>Flyers</strong>. He<br />

begins his 15th season with the <strong>Flyers</strong>, and also spent seven seasons in the same role<br />

with the Phantoms. Prior to joining the <strong>Flyers</strong>, McCrossin served as the strength and<br />

conditioning coach of the Hartford Whalers during the 1995-96 season.<br />

McCrossin previously worked with the <strong>Flyers</strong> as an athletic trainer with Pat Croce. He is a<br />

graduate of West Chester University and is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Certified<br />

Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He was also recently certified by the National<br />

Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist. McCrossin is a member<br />

of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the National Strength and Conditioning<br />

Association and the American Academy of Sports Medicine.<br />

On November 24, 2007, McCrossin was honored by the <strong>Flyers</strong> and the Professional Hockey<br />

Athletic Trainers Society for working his 1,000th game in professional hockey. Jim has four<br />

children: Kevin, J.D., Danielle, and Luke. He and his wife, Robyn, reside in New Jersey.<br />

Sal Raffa Assistant Athletic Trainer<br />

Sal Raffa begins his seventh season as the assistant athletic trainer for the <strong>Flyers</strong>. He was<br />

promoted to the position in 2006 after spending two seasons as the head athletic trainer for<br />

the <strong>Philadelphia</strong> Phantoms.<br />

A native of Norristown, Pennsylvania, Raffa graduated from Temple University in 2003 with<br />

a degree in sports medicine/athletic training and gained experience as a student athletic<br />

trainer for the men’s basketball and football teams. He started his career in professional<br />

hockey as the athletic trainer for the Rockford IceHogs, then of the United Hockey League,<br />

during the 2003-04 season. Raffa also interned with <strong>Flyers</strong>’ Athletic Trainer/Strength and<br />

Conditioning Coach Jim McCrossin during the summer of 2003.<br />

Sal resides with his wife Holly and son Maximus in Warrington, PA.`<br />
