Introduction <strong>and</strong> WSN Infrastructure<br />

A. Introduction, Sensor Network Concept, WSN constraints <strong>and</strong> challenges, WSN<br />
applications, WSN development stage – deployment, localization <strong>and</strong> tracking, data<br />
communication. Design of sensor motes, low power WSN, Clustering, Topology control.<br />
B. WSN applications<br />
Unit II<br />
Localization <strong>and</strong> Sensor - Medium Access Control<br />
(8 Hrs)<br />
A. Sensor management <strong>and</strong> Bayesian networks, Time synchronization, Types of<br />
Localization, Key assumptions, Fundamentals of MAC protocols, Energy conservation<br />
MAC protocols like S-MAC, P-MAC, Z-MAC, T-MAC, L-MAC etc, IEEE 802.15.4<br />
st<strong>and</strong>ard.<br />
B. Localization algorithms<br />

Routing protocols for WSN <strong>and</strong> Network simulators<br />

A. Delaunay triangulation, Prim’s algorithm, Euclidean minimum spanning tree, DSR<br />
