[NOTE- Any service certificate granted under this sub-regulation may be<br />

restricted to mines having opencast workings only, and such restriction shall be<br />

endorsed on the certificate].<br />

(2) Every application for the grant <strong>of</strong> a Service Certificate under this sub-regulation shall<br />

be accompanied by :<br />

(i)<br />

a certificate <strong>of</strong> age granted by a Gazetted Officer <strong>of</strong> the Government or by<br />

the head-master <strong>of</strong> a school <strong>of</strong> a Higher Secondary or equivalent standard<br />

or by a qualified practitioner not below the rank <strong>of</strong> a Civil Assistant<br />

Surgeon :<br />

Provided that in case <strong>of</strong> a person holding a matriculation or<br />

equivalent certificate, such certificate shall be submitted as<br />

evidence <strong>of</strong> age;<br />

(ii) a medical certificate obtained not more than two years prior to the date <strong>of</strong><br />

his application, from a qualified medical practitioner not below the rank <strong>of</strong> a Civil<br />

Assistant Surgeon or from a Certifying Surgeon, certifying the candidate to be free from<br />

deafness, defective vision or any other infirmity, mental or physical, likely to interfere<br />

with the efficient discharge <strong>of</strong> his duties; and<br />

(iii)<br />

a certificate from some person <strong>of</strong> good repute as to the general good<br />

conduct and sobriety <strong>of</strong> the candidate.<br />

(3) Fees on the scale laid down in Regulation 21 shall be paid in respect <strong>of</strong> every<br />

examination under this regulation.<br />

25. Validity <strong>of</strong> old Certificates – Any Engine-driver’s or Blaster’s Certificate granted<br />

under the Mysore Gold <strong>Mines</strong> <strong>Regulations</strong>, which is valid at the commencement <strong>of</strong> these<br />

regulations shall be deemed respectively to be the equivalent <strong>of</strong> an Engine-driver’s or<br />

Blaster’s Certificate granted under these regulations.<br />

26. Duplicate Certificates – If any person proves to the satisfaction <strong>of</strong> the Board that he<br />

has, without any fault on his part, lost or been deprived <strong>of</strong> a certificate granted to hi,<br />

under these regulations, the Board may, upon realisation <strong>of</strong> the following fees and subject<br />

to such terms and conditions as it thinks fit, cause a copy <strong>of</strong> the certificate to be delivered<br />

to him –<br />

(a) in the case <strong>of</strong> a Manager’s or Surveyor’s Certificate Rs. 5<br />

(b) in the case <strong>of</strong> any other certificate Rs. 2<br />

The word “DUPLICATE” shall be stamped across every such copy.
