2[17. Practical experience <strong>of</strong> candidates for Surveyor’s Examination – No person shall be<br />
admitted as a candidate at any examination for a Surveyor’s Certificate unless he has<br />
satisfied the Board that he has had not less than two year’s practical experience <strong>of</strong><br />
surveying <strong>of</strong> a type approved by the Board, In case <strong>of</strong> candidates for a certificate which is<br />
not restricted to mines having opencast workings, the said experience shall include<br />
practical experience for a period <strong>of</strong> not less than six months <strong>of</strong> surveying the workings<br />
belowground <strong>of</strong> a mine having an average employment <strong>of</strong> not less than 60 in workings<br />
below ground or such other mines as the Board may approve in this behalf :<br />
Provided that the aforesaid period <strong>of</strong> two years shall be reduced to six months in<br />
case <strong>of</strong> candidate who has received a certificate, diploma or degree in mining or mining<br />
engineering, mine surveying, or civil engineering or other equivalent qualification<br />
approved in that behalf by the Central Government, subject, however, to the condition<br />
that in case <strong>of</strong> a candidate for a certificate which is not restricted to mines having<br />
opencast workings, the said six months experience should have been gained in workings<br />
below ground <strong>of</strong> a mine as aforsiad.]<br />
3[18. Practical experience <strong>of</strong> candidates for Mate’s and Blaster’s Examinations. (1) No<br />
person shall be admitted as a candidate at any examination for a Mate’s Certificate unless<br />
the Board is satisfied that he has had practical experience and training in a metalliferous<br />
mine for a period <strong>of</strong> not less than three year :<br />
Provided that the said period shall be reduced –<br />
(a) to two years in the case <strong>of</strong> a candidate who has received a diploma or<br />
certificate in mining subjects or other equivalent qualification after a<br />
course <strong>of</strong> at leas two years’ duration approved in that behalf by the<br />
Central Government 4[or who received has a degree in applied<br />
geology or in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or other<br />
equivalent qualification approved in that behalf by the Central<br />
Government] ; and<br />
(b) to one year in the case <strong>of</strong> a candidate who has received a diploma or<br />
degree in mining or mining engineering or other equivalent<br />
qualification approved in that behalf by the Central Government .<br />
(2) No person shall be admitted as a candidate at any examination for a Blaster’s<br />
Certificate unless the Board is satisfied that he has had practical experience and<br />
training in a metalliferous mine for a period <strong>of</strong> not less than two years, <strong>of</strong> which<br />
not less than six months shall be experience and training in connection with shotfiring<br />
:<br />
Provided that the said period shall be reduced :<br />
(a) to one year (including not less than four months in shot-firing)<br />
in the case <strong>of</strong> a candidate who has received a diploma or<br />
certificate in mining subjects or other equivalent qualification
