mining as may be approved by the Board in this behalf, from appearing at the<br />

examination or part there<strong>of</strong> for the grant <strong>of</strong> a certificate referred to in regulation 12.]<br />

(2) The examinations shall be held at such times and at such centres as may e<br />

fixed by the Board, and shall be conducted by examiners appointed by the Board.<br />

(3) The examiners so appointed shall be subject to the orders <strong>of</strong> the Board in<br />

respect <strong>of</strong> all matters relating to the conduct <strong>of</strong> the examinations, and shall receive such<br />

remuneration as the Board, with the sanction <strong>of</strong> the Central Government, may fix.<br />

(4) The Board may make 2bye-laws as to the conduct <strong>of</strong> the examinations and as<br />

to the granting o certificates <strong>of</strong> competency and <strong>of</strong> fitness as required under these<br />

regulations, and shall, so far as may e practicable; provide that the standard <strong>of</strong> knowledge<br />

required for the grant <strong>of</strong> certificates <strong>of</strong> any particular class and the standard <strong>of</strong> medical<br />

fitness shall be uniform throughout the territories to which these regulations extend.<br />

Every bye-law made by the Board under this regulation shall be published in the Official<br />

Gazette; and no such bye-law shall have effect until three months after the date on which<br />

it was so published.<br />

14. Submission <strong>of</strong> applications – (1) Applications for an examination conducted by the<br />

Board shall made on a form supplied for the purpose.<br />

(2) Notice regarding the date and place <strong>of</strong> the examinations for the Manager’s and<br />

Surveyor’s certificates shall be published under the order <strong>of</strong> the Board, in such<br />

periodicals as the Board may direct, not less than 60 days prior to the date fixed by the<br />

Board for receiving applications. The closing date for receipt <strong>of</strong> applications shall not be<br />

less than 60 days prior to the date fixed for the examination.<br />

15. Age and general qualifications etc. <strong>of</strong> candidates – (1) (a) No person shall be admitted<br />

as a candidate at any examination held by the Board unless he is 3[20 years <strong>of</strong> age].<br />

(b) No person shall be admitted as a candidate at any examination for a<br />

Manager’s, Surveyor’s, Foreman’s, Mate’s or Blaster’s Certificate unless he holds a<br />

valid first-aid certificate or the standard <strong>of</strong> the St. John Ambulance Association (India):<br />

Provided that if any candidate satisfied the Board that he has not had sufficient<br />

opportunity to obtain such first-aid certificate, the Board may admit him to the<br />

examination on such conditions, if any, as it thinks fit to impose.<br />

(d) Every application for any examination as aforesaid shall be accompanied by :-<br />

A certificate <strong>of</strong> age granted by a Gazetted Officer or by the head<br />

master <strong>of</strong> a school or a Higher Secondary or equivalent standard;
