(b) Manager’s second class certificate <strong>of</strong> competency to manage a<br />

metalliferous mine (in these regulations referred to as a Second Class<br />

Manager’s Certificate);<br />

(c) Surveyor’s certificate <strong>of</strong> competency to survey the workings <strong>of</strong> a<br />

mine (in these regulations referred to as a Surveyor’s Certificate);<br />

(d) Mine Foreman’s certificate <strong>of</strong> competency to carry out inspections<br />

and duties as required under these regulations (in these regulations<br />

referred to as a Forman’s Certificate);<br />

(e) Mining Mate’s certificate <strong>of</strong> competency to carry out inspections and<br />

duties as required under these regulations (in these regulations<br />

referred to as a Mate’s Certificate);<br />

1[(f) winding engineman’s I Class certificate (in these regulations referred<br />

to as a First Class enginedriver’s Certificate) to drive a winding engine <strong>of</strong><br />

any type or class or <strong>of</strong> such type or class or <strong>of</strong> such type or class or types<br />

or classes as may be specified in the certificate;<br />

(g) winding engineman’s II class certificate (in these regulations referred<br />

to as a Second Class enginedriver’s Certificate) to drive a winding engine<br />

<strong>of</strong> any type or class or <strong>of</strong> such type or class or <strong>of</strong> such type or class or<br />

types or classes as may be specified in the certificate;<br />

(h) Blaster’s certificate <strong>of</strong> competency to fire shots in a metalliferous mine<br />

(in these regulations referred to as a Blaster’s Certificate); and<br />

(i) Certificate <strong>of</strong> competency to test for the presence <strong>of</strong> inflammable gas<br />

(in these regulations referred to as a Gas-testing Certificate) : Provided<br />

that 2[any <strong>of</strong> the certificates aforesaid, other than an Engine Driver’s<br />

Certificate and a Gas-testing Certificate] may be restricted to mines having<br />

open-cast workings only and this fact shall be endorsed on the certificate.<br />

13. Examinations and Examiners. – (1) Certificates <strong>of</strong> competency shall be granted to<br />

successful candidates after such examination and in such form as the Board may<br />

prescribe :<br />

3[Provided that the Board may, subject to the conditions to b specified in the bye -<br />

laws framed for the purpose, exempt any person 4****** from appearing at the<br />

examination or part there<strong>of</strong> for the grant <strong>of</strong> a certificate referred to in regulation 12]<br />

1[Provided further that the Board may, for a period <strong>of</strong> five years from the date <strong>of</strong><br />

coming into force <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Metalliferous</strong> <strong>Mines</strong> (Amendment) <strong>Regulations</strong>, 1977 and<br />

subject to such conditions as may be prescribed in the bye-law made by the Board for the<br />

purpose, exempt any person, possessing such experience or such qualifications or both in
