MEAL PLAN h Prices include breakfast throughout,

GRATUITIES h Porterage is included at hotels and
airports. Tips for your driver and guide are not included,
we recommend you tip at the end of your holiday.
TRAVEL TIPS h The best time to visit is spring or autumn
when the days are warm and the nights are cool but not
cold. Head protection, sun lotion and sunglasses are
essential. Evenings in the desert always get cold so a
jumper or jacket is recommended. Due to the bumpy,
rough nature of the terrain the trip into Wadi Rum
by four-wheel drive is not recommended for anyone
with back problems.
NB h Included in the tour are all entrance fees to the sites
mentioned; a local English speaking guide from Day 2 to
Day 7; a short horse ride in Petra (after your ride tipping
is strongly recommended) and a four-wheel drive Jeep
tour inside Wadi Rum desert. The Mujib Nature Reserve,
Bethany and Pharaoh’s Island excursions are all optional
and therefore available at an additional cost. The
Pharaoh’s Island cruise is not available to guests
choosing the Wadi Rum overnight experience. Currently,
due to on going excavations, the church at Mt Nebo is
closed, however it is still possible to visit the site.

You will be escorted by a local English speaking guide who
will join you from Day 2 to Day 7. The Aqaba extension
to the main tour is on an unescorted basis; however,
assistance will be available from our local representatives.

to a stay at Wadi Rum in a Bedouin camp for the night,

extensions can also be tailor made as a private itinerary

DAY 6 h Explore the iconic UNESCO World Heritage city of
Petra which was carved out of the rose-red sandstone some
2000 years ago, and recently has been voted as one of the
New Seven Wonders of the World. Walk through the Siq,
the narrow gorge that leads to Petra’s most impressive
monument, the Treasury. Explore the Street of Façades, the
Theatre, the Royal Tombs and the Monumental Arch. In the
afternoon, should you wish, you can climb a flight of 900
steps, cut in the rock, up to the gigantic monument know as
‘The Monastery’ with its remarkable views over Wadi
Araba. Standing an impressive 47 metres wide and more
than 48 metres high this last climb offers unrivalled views
and is a just reward.
DAY 7 h This morning is at leisure, before later driving to
Wadi Rum, one of the world’s most colourful and unique
landscapes. Embark on an adventurous two-and-a-half hour
excursion by four-wheel drive to view the Seven Pillars of
Wisdom and other sites made famous by the David Lean
epic ’Lawrence of Arabia’. Watch the sun sink below the
horizon before proceeding to a traditional Bedouin camp
where a bonfire and candles will light up the walls of the
rock towering above the camp. Sit back on Arabic rugs and
cushions while you enjoy oriental music and dinner served
under a lamp-lit Arabian tent. After dinner continue to
Aqaba ahead of a two night stay. Alternatively you can
choose to spend tonight camping under the stars like a true
desert nomad – a memorable experience – before
continuing on to Aqaba the following morning.
DAY 8 h Today is free to relax or explore at your leisure (or
transfer from Wadi Rum if you choose the overnight desert
experience). If you prefer to be more active there is an
optional yacht excursion to Pharaoh’s Island to visit a
Crusader fortress and to enjoy some snorkelling (at extra
cost and not available to guests choosing the Wadi Rum
overnight experience).
DAY 9 h Transfer back to the airport in time for your return
flight, alternatively perhaps extend your stay with a few
extra days relaxing on the shores of the Red Sea in Aqaba.
