ProAir gets ready for summer!
In this last edition of our newsletter
before the summer break we wish to
show you how far our worldwide
connections to airlines have
successfully “taken off”.
Island hopping in the Caribbean,
executive charters in the Far East –
ProAir knows the right contacts and
finds the most suitable aircraft. ProAir
is in a position to provide you with
interesting offers and possibilities, no
matter from where and to which
destination, and also in which
countries you may have to fall back
upon different airlines and their
different aircraft because of bi-lateral,
political considerations. A feeder line
to an international airport in the
United States has already
demonstrated this situation recently.
The newsletter team now says
goodbye to you until the beginning of
September, when in the next edition
we will be telling you all about
“ProAir’s summer experiences”. In the
meantime we wish you a sunny,
warm and enjoyable summer. You
can always reach our team around
the clock 24/7! Call us or send us an
email.
Travel & Experience
ProAir and football:
a successful team thanks to Liga Travel GmbH
An interview
with Ralf Schaar
(Department Manager
of Liga Travel GmbH)
As part of a joint enterprise between DFL
Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH (German Football
League) and HRG Hogg Robinson Germany
GmbH & Co. KG, and under the umbrella of DFL,
Liga Travel GmbH has been offering a
professional travel service for top German and
European football since 1 July 2002.
Besides the daily business of assisting the 28
football clubs of the first and second national
leagues, Liga Travel also undertakes for many
other clubs the complete running of team,
sponsors, press and supporters trips, covering
the flights, the hotels, and even the tickets and
attendance at the matches. It also creates
attractive support programmes and creative
events right around the football match at home and abroad.
A significant component of any professional travel organisation is, of
course, the sector of flight. ProAir has been a close partner of Liga
Travel for many years.
ProAir employee Markus Ciravegna wanted to know a bit more about
the close relationship between the two companies and asked Ralf
Schaar a few questions:
Who ranks among your regular customers?
“In the first place, of course, is the DFL. We take complete care of
daily business for the league association: for example, in August last
year we substantially helped to create and co-ordinate the event
management of the general meeting for the first and second national
leagues in Berlin. Beyond this, we are currently in charge of
arrangements for 28 clubs out of the 36 in the first and second
national leagues. This means that for the majority we offer our
complete range of capabilities, i.e. also including our complete
service within the scope of international competitions, from the travel
of the team up to the creative event surrounding the match for the
sponsors.
“And, of course, we hope that we will also gain many representatives
as customers from the forthcoming third league.”
How many colleagues comprise your team on the day of an
UEFA Cup away game and in the offices?
“The Liga Travel team always contains five employees with different
professional main skills. In order to safely oversee the smooth
running of the daily businesses of our other club customers during
the day of an UEFA Cup away game, our office in the branch of DFL is
normally filled with at least two travel specialists. For example, when
1. FC Nuremberg travelled to Lisbon four colleagues were on the spot
to co-ordinate the organisation of 1,200 guests. And because our
1 of 5
customer HSV met FC Zurich at his UEFA Cup match in Zurich,
Switzerland, we offered support from our own ranks. I can absolutely
rely on our colleagues from the other HRG Sports Divisions since we
both run the same high quality level of service in this field. Of course,
with such a large-scale operation it helped us enormously that we
had such a specialist flight provider as ProAir alongside us who could
back us up on the spot in view of the organisation of the return
flights.”
When it concerns flights for the teams, sponsors and fans
ProAir has been a leading provider since 2005. How do Liga
Travel and ProAir co-operate with each other?
“Due to our co-operation with the clubs and associations, and also
due to our official status, we at Liga Travel have a very special
responsibility as far as the quality of our service is concerned. We
always do that tiny ‘bit more’ that makes the quality of our service
‘special’.
“In order to meet these high requirements we need partners, of
course, that see things as we do and consequently offer the same
standards of service. ProAir really stands for high quality, a wide
variety of offers in the national and international flight sector, as well
as professional care and consideration. As a result therefore, we are
capable generating prompt offer proposals for the customers.
Promptness, flexibility and confidence ranks high on our list of
priorities in our business.”
We thank Mr. Schaar for taking the time and trouble to answer our
questions, and hope that our very successful working relationship will
continue long into the future!
Around the world with ProAir
Although the flight from Memmingen/Germany
to the USA totals nearly 11.5 hours, when
ProAir flew a customer to sunny Key West in
Florida this proved no problem with a 12-seat
Challenger 604. After a stay of nearly three
weeks the customer was flown punctually back
home.
On the other side of the globe China was the destination. A small Asia
round trip was completed taking in the following routes: in China
from Shanghai to Yinchuan, then on to Nanning (for a quick stoppage
to refuel), and finally in Vietnam from Da Nang to Cam Rahn.
The flight from Shanghai to Da Nang was taken
with two 8-seat Hawker 800XP type. The
aircraft had to be exchanged in Da Nang
because Chinese aircraft are not allowed to
enter Vietnam air space! Here we used an 8seat
Hawker 850 and a 6-seat Citation Jet 3.
ProAir in North Armerica
ProAir has also been travelling around the USA,
starting with customers landing on a scheduled
flight at Newark airport.
After the required checks by the customs and
entry authorities the guests were received by
the crew and flown immediately to their final
destination of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Flying time: 1 hour 55 minutes.
ProAir also received an enquiry through a travel
office in Hamburg to fly two passengers from St.
Marteen to Nevis and from there to St. Barths
(all in the Caribbean), where the couple spent
time during their dream honeymoon. Each flight
took nearly one hour and, according to our pilot,
the bridegroom can now fill numerous
photograph albums with unforgettable memories.
From Cologne to Kaiserslautern by helicopter
their appointment.
ProAir in the service of VfB Stuttgart
Although we really prefer to fly with the twinengine
BO 105 directly to and from the football
stadiums of 1. FC Köln and KSC this was not
possible due to technical reasons. ProAir
immediately found an alternative using a
helicopter and our guests made it punctually to
Team flights using ProAir are almost a tradition
for VfB Stuttgart. Using a 31-seat Dornier DO
328 Jet they recently flew from Stuttgart to
Cottbus and to the Airport Braunschweig for
their national league matches against Cottbus
and Wolfsburg.
With ProAir to Romania in less than three hours
Romania is not only hard to reach from
Stuttgart by scheduled airlines but also involves
laborious change connections. A charter flight
manages it in a mere two and a half hours nonstop
from Stuttgart to Cluj, Romania. The
second largest city in Romania is located in
Transylvania and has been serviced by a 18-seat Metro 23 since
April.
Cargo & Logistics
Election Records to Rome Fiumicino
Cargo charter flights from Cologne, Stuttgart
and Hannover recently took place with
diplomatic pouches on board!
Using a Metro III (see photograph on left) that
can take nearly two tons of cargo, a Metro 23
(one ton) and a Cessna 406, they carried
election records of a little more than 800 kilograms that were packed
in sacks, together with diplomatic couriers, to Rome. It was very
important to the customer to land in Fiumicino (FCO), and special
permission was required to do so, as it is actually prohibited for
aircraft of such size to land at such a big international airport as
Fiumicino. Normally Rome-Ciamoino (CIA) is used for business
aviation: Due to a professional back office the handling of the
election records could be provided in FCO.
ProAir intern
ProAir is also one step ahead with aircraft management
ProAir has renewed a significant aircraft
management contract, ensuring that another
aircraft has remained in private management
since the beginning of May.
A Falcon 900B has been flying for a private customer for more than 4
years under the control of ProAir, and now in addition there is a
brand new Falcon 7x. Besides flight and crew planning, catering, and
obtaining the over-flight and landing rights, ProAir also takes care of
the complete handling and operational services of the aircraft. For the
customer this means one thing: service from one direct source!
The Falcon 7X (originally Falcon FNX) is a business jet of Dassault
Aviation. It is the first business jet with fly-by-wire control
technology.
This type of aircraft, which has been completely developed using
Computer Aided Design technology on a virtual drawing board, was
first presented at the international air show in Paris, France. Having
received 165 orders from 33 countries prior to the first delivery, this
type of aircraft seems certain to be very successful. Dassault is
scheduled to market between 400 and 500 Falcon 7X jets. The breakeven
point for sales of this aircraft, which costs around 45 million US
Dollars, is 300. The Dassault Aviation Group received the licence for
the Falcon 7X from the American and European Aviation
Administration on 27 April 2007. The owner of the first Falcon 7X jets
has already been in negotiations with several European companies
with regard to aircraft management.
The evaluation of all references, impressions and experiences that
ProAir was able to convey to the owner has resulted in the total order
for flight operation, maintenance and crews has now been assigned
to ProAir. This expensive jet is now among the company aircraft that
we already take care of, and is a new highlight and further motivation
for our performance in this branch of industry.
were able to answer many definite enquiries on
the spot. We signed a framework contract at the
event with a globally active multiple travel
agency, making IMEX 2008 a completely
successful operation.
