LOCATION
The historic village of Mileham has developed around Mileham Castle which was on
of the largest motte and bailey castles built in Norfolk, the remains of which still stand
today.
The popular village of Mileham lies between the bustling market towns of Dereham and
Fakenham. The village itself, which is surrounded by open countryside, has a general
store with a post office, a garden nursery, an excellent primary school and is within the
catchment area for Litcham High School.
It also has good access to the County capital of Norwich, which is around 25 miles
away, as is Kings Lynn, both of these having main line rail connections to London
and Norwich having an International airport with connections worldwide. The north
Norfolk coast, with its miles of sandy beaches, is also within easy driving distance
with Burnham Market being around 20 miles away. Norfolk as a county offers an
exceptional range of leisure activities from water sports on sea, river or the Broads, to
golf with many excellent courses. The area is well known for its abundance of wildlife
and the many miles of country walks or rides which criss cross the county.
