4.2 Avoid over fl ying residential areas.<br />

4.3 Avoid rapid changes to engine power.<br />

4.4 Use minimal reverse thrust consistent<br />

with safe operating procedures.<br />

5. TAXI RESTRICTION B777-300,<br />

A340-500/600, B747-800<br />

5.1 Taxiing restriction applies to B777-300,<br />

A340-500, A340-600 and B747-800 to<br />

specifi c TWYs and stands.<br />

In order to keep the required minimum<br />

edge clearance, judgemental oversteer<br />

shall be used.<br />

5.2 At parking positions on the main terminal<br />

and satellite, the wing tip clearance<br />

between aircraft parked on adjacent<br />

positions may be reduced to 4.5m/14.8ft.<br />

5.3 TWY C between D12 and D9 closed.<br />

TWYs D12 and D10 between C and D<br />

closed.<br />

6. AUXILIARY POWER UNIT<br />

During parking at stand with GPU and<br />

preconditioned air, the use of APU shall<br />

be avoided. Except: MAX 15min after<br />

arriving at stand and MAX 15min before<br />

departing from stand.<br />

7. LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURE<br />

7.1 Landed aircraft shall report clear of colour<br />

coded CLL, sensitive area, and upon<br />

arrival on parking stand.<br />

7.2 Departing aircraft shall use the following<br />

CAT II holding points:<br />

RWY 03L: A1, A2<br />

RWY 03R: D1, D2<br />

RWY 21L: D12, D13<br />

RWY 21R: A13, A14<br />

7.3 Intersection take-off are not permitted.<br />

8. A380-800 GROUND OPERATIONS<br />

8.1 Engines 1 and 4 should be shut-down<br />

when vacating the RWY after landing and<br />

started-up for departure on the RWY.<br />

Taxiing shall be performed on engines 2<br />

and 3.<br />

8.2 Alternatively, engines 1 and 4 may be<br />

started on TWY D facing south ABM D2<br />

for DEP from RWY 03R or on D13 facing<br />

east for DEP from RWY 21L. If 1 and 4<br />

started before entering RWY they must<br />

be kept at ground idle until lined up.<br />

8.3 Taxi only by follow-me at low speed.<br />

8.4 A380-800 aircraft taxiing over TWY K<br />

and H bridges are limited to Maximum<br />

Landing Weight.<br />

8.5 Taxilanes E, Y1, Y2, I and J are not<br />

available for A380 traffi c.<br />

8.6 When holding short of a RWY stop at<br />

CAT II holding points.<br />

8.7 A380 can be parked on contact stands<br />

A13, A11, A09, B05, A33, A35, A37 using<br />

the Agnis-Papa system for guidance and<br />

on remote parking positions B17 and A42<br />

by a Marshaller. Alternatively, in case of<br />

unavailability of tow bar on board TWY<br />

G can accommodate the aircraft facing<br />

North or South.<br />

8.8 In order to keep the required minimum<br />

edge clearance, judgemental oversteer<br />

shall be used.<br />

8.9 Due to height limitations of the GSE<br />

equipment the top of the ACFT tail cannot<br />

be fully de-iced.<br />

8.10 Departure of A380-800<br />

8.10.1 For take-off use the Flight Crew Operating<br />

Manual supplementary procedure:<br />

Operation on Runway + Shoulders less<br />

than 58m/190ft wide<br />

8.10.2 When taking-off from RWY 03L/21R,<br />

the weight limitation for taxiing over the<br />

bridges to TWYs K and H must be taken<br />

into consideration in take-off weight<br />

calculations.<br />

8.10.3 The existing ILS procedures have been<br />

designed taking into consideration the<br />

collision risk model.<br />

ARRIVAL<br />

1. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURE<br />

Use delayed gear and fl ap extension and<br />

low power/drag confi gurations consistent<br />

with safe operating procedures.<br />

2. SIMULTANEOUS APPROACHES<br />

2.1 Instrument or visual approaches<br />

are conducted to one runway while<br />

independent visual approaches may be<br />

conducted simultaneously to the other<br />

runway, used mainly for departures,<br />

provided that the following terms are met.<br />

2.1.2 The simultaneous independent visual<br />

approaches may be conducted in CAVOK<br />

weather conditions and during day only.<br />

2.2.2 As early as practicable after an aircraft<br />

has established communication with<br />

APPROACH CONTROL, and is expected<br />

to be vectored for simultaneous visual<br />

approach, the aircraft shall be advised<br />

accordingly. “EXPECT VECTORING<br />

TO ESTABLISH ILS LOCALIZER FOR<br />

INDEPENDENT VISUAL APPROACH<br />

TO RUNWAY (number)”.<br />

21.3 If for any reason a pilot does not accept<br />

the visual simultaneous approach he/<br />

she shall inform the approach controller<br />

accordingly.<br />

2.1.4 The pilot after fi rst contact with<br />

Approach/Director should report<br />

“VISUAL” and/or “RUNWAY (number<br />

left/right) IN SIGHT” as soon as possible<br />

and at a distance not closer than 3nm<br />

from the localizer course of the adjacent<br />

parallel runway If this prerequisite is not<br />

met, the controller may, if necessary,<br />

vector the aircraft away from the fi nal<br />

approach for sequencing to the other<br />

runway used only for approaches.<br />

2.1.5 Standard separation (1000 vertical<br />

or 3nm radar separation) shall be<br />

maintained until both aircraft are<br />

established on the adjacent localizers<br />

and at a distance not less than 10nm<br />

from the runway threshold.<br />

2.1.6 When aircraft are vectored to intercept<br />

the localizer, the fi nal vector shall not<br />

be greater than 30°, in order to ensure<br />

that the runway centreline is not crossed<br />

during interception.<br />

2.1.7 Provided that the pilot has reported<br />

“VISUAL” and both aircraft have<br />

established the adjacent localizers, any<br />

other type of separation is terminated.<br />

2.1.8 When simultaneous visual approaches<br />

are in progress all affected approaching<br />

aircraft shall be timely informed by<br />

APPROACH CONTROL and approach<br />

traffi c information shall be provided to all<br />

aircraft involved, when necessary.<br />

GENERAL<br />

2.1.9 Transfer of control, of the visually<br />

approaching aircraft, to the aerodrome<br />

controller shall take place when the<br />

aircraft has already established on the<br />

relevant localizer course.<br />

2.1.10 Aircraft executing simultaneous visual<br />

approach and unable to complete it, shall<br />

be handled as any visually approach<br />

aircraft.<br />

2.2. Pilot Responsibilities: Acceptance of<br />

a visual simultaneous approach is an<br />

acknowledgment that the pilot is familiar<br />

with the area and shall:<br />

2.2.1 Fly accurate headings when being radar<br />

vectored to fi nal, ensuring that the runway<br />

fi nal localizer course is not crossed during<br />

intercept.<br />

2.2.2 Visually approach the runway to which<br />

cleared, following the localizer.<br />

2.2.3 Maintain own separation with the<br />

preceding aircraft on the same or on the<br />

adjacent localizer course.<br />

2.2.4 Be responsible for wake turbulence<br />

separation.<br />

2.2.5 Accurately follow the extended runway<br />

centreline.<br />

2.2.6 Advise ATC immediately when unable,<br />

for any reason, to follow localizer or when<br />

visual contact with the runway is lost.<br />

3. TAXI<br />

3.1 In order to avoid damage, acft types<br />

L-1011, DC-10 and MD-11 are not to<br />

increase power of engine No. 2 beyond<br />

idle speed when taxiing in the vicinity of<br />

buildings.<br />

3.2 All acft stands are allocated by the Airport<br />

Company and communicated via ATC,<br />

together with the relevant taxi instructions.<br />

3.3 Parking of acft on the stand is either<br />

by means of AGNIS-PAPA (Azimuth<br />

Guidance for Nose In Stands) or by<br />

marshaller.<br />

3.4 When taxiing into an AGIS-PAPA nose-in<br />

stand, if the system is off or out of order<br />

STOP immediately, report to Ground<br />

Control and wait for instructions.<br />

3.5 Parking on stands not provided with<br />

AGNIS-PAPA is only permitted under the<br />

instructions of a marshaller.<br />

3.6 Marshaller service is the responsibility of<br />

the Ground Handling Agents.<br />

DEPARTURE<br />

1. START UP, ATC CLEARANCE<br />

1.1 Start-up clearance shall be requested<br />

from DFEL on 118.675.<br />

1.2 Request clearance earliest 10min before<br />

engine start-up. Inform on Clearance<br />

frequemncy. If unable to taxi with8in<br />

10min from start-up time.<br />

2. PUSH BACK AND TAXI<br />

2.1 Push-back or taxiing clearance from a<br />

position may only be requested if the<br />

manoeuvre can be made immediately.<br />

2.2 When requesting Push-back and/or Taxi,<br />

indicate acft parking stand.<br />

2.3 Starting up engines for aircraft requiring<br />

push-back is commenced when the<br />

aircraft is aligned on the Twy centreline<br />

or when clearing the apron service<br />

road, in order to protect personnel and<br />

equipment from the jet-blast.<br />

2.4 Where push-back is not necessary or in<br />

exceptional cases when starting at least<br />

one engine on the stand, the safety of<br />

the aircraft is the responsibility of the<br />

airline and the ground handler. They<br />

shall take appropriate measures in order<br />

to safeguard the area and to prevent any<br />

personnel or vehicle from passing behind<br />

running engines, and ensure that jet blast<br />

does not affect aircraft taxiing on the Twy<br />

behind.<br />

GENERAL<br />

3. INTERSECTION TAKE-OFF<br />

3.1 Intersection take-off will be executed<br />

during day with visibility not less than<br />

5km.<br />

3.2 An aircraft may be cleared to depart from<br />

an intersection take-off position:<br />

3.2.1 Upon request of the pilot and acceptance<br />

by ATC or<br />

3.2.2 If initiated by ATC and accepted by the<br />

pilot.<br />

3.3 When a departure from an intersection<br />

take-off position is requested by the pilot,<br />

phraseology will be as follows:<br />

“REQUEST DEPARTURE FROM<br />

RUNWAY (number), INTERSECTION<br />

(name of intersection)”.<br />

3.4 Reduced take-off run available will be<br />

given by the controller upon request.<br />

3.5 Pilots shall state their position at the<br />

intersection when calling the tower for<br />

departure from a runway intersection, as<br />

follows:<br />

“ELEFTHERIOS VENIZELOS<br />

TOWER (aircraft call sign), AT THE<br />

INTERSECTION (name), READY FOR<br />

DEPARTURE RUNWAY (name)”.<br />

4. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURE<br />

Thrust Reduction Acceleration,<br />

Runways 03L and 03R.<br />

Unless for safety reasons all turbo-prop<br />

and jet powered aircraft shall not reduce<br />

take-off thrust until a minimum altitude<br />

of 1800 has been reached and shall<br />

not accelerate above initial climb speed<br />

(v2+10) or change take-off fl ap and slat<br />

configuration until minimum altitude of<br />

3300 has been reached.<br />
