C. Annual Awards
An annual award is made from funds received on a regular basis from a donor. The
award continues only as long as the donor funds the scholarship.
Allied Poultry. A one-year award in agriculture that is funded by money received from
Allied Poultry Industries and matched by funds from individual donors.
Alumni Association Scholarship. These scholarships are funded by the Alumni who
pay yearly dues to the Alumni Association. The Alumni Board of Directors award the
scholarships at Homecoming. Recipient(s) of the award must be either a junior or senior and
have a 2.75 GPA. Recipients are nominated to the Alumni Board by each academic department
and selected by the Alumni Association Board.
Arkansas Bankers Association (Group V). Awarded on an alternate basis between
the University of Arkansas at Monticello and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
Recipient must be a business major or express an interest in a banking career.
Ashley County Single Parent Association Scholarship. Applicant must have
custody of and be responsible for daily care of his/her children. Scholarships will be from
$300 to $500 a semester and must be renewed each semester. Applications may be
obtained from the College of Technology at Crossett counselor.
Ball, Barton & Hoffman Business Award. Donation given annually by Ball, Barton &
Hoffman Attorneys at Law of Monticello, Arkansas.
Fred and Doria Bellott Music Gift Fund. Established by Dr. and Mrs. Fred Bellott for
program support for the UAM Division of Music.
BKD Accounting Award. Annual award given by Baird, Kurtz, and Dobson of Springfield,
Missouri.
Luther H. Black Memorial Scholarship. Available in Arkansas only, this scholarship
recognizes an adult education student who received a GED credential with priority given to
education majors. The amount of the scholarship varies. Applicants must submit applications
by July 15 of each year, meet the criteria for enrollment in a state-approved Adult
Education Program and be a GED graduate; demonstrate concern for humanity, leadership
skills, good citizenship and professional promise; demonstrate intent to enroll in an
accredited post-secondary institution; and be recommended by a local scholarship
committee under the supervision of a local program coordinator. See the College of

Jimmy Lee Buford Memorial Scholarship. Annual scholarship administered by the
UAM College of Technology at McGehee. This scholarship was established in memory of
Jimmy Lee Buford and is given to student(s) in the agriculture department.
Commercial Bank Business Award. Annual award made by Commercial Bank & Trust
of Monticello, Arkansas for a business major.
Dallas County Conservation District Scholarship. Established by the Dallas County
Conservation District for the winner of the Future Farmers of America District Forestry
Contest help in Dallas County.
Farmer’s Grain Terminal Award. Established by Farmer’s Grain Terminal, Inc. of
Greenville, Mississippi. The recipient of this award must be from Drew, Desha, Ashley, or
Chicot counties. The donors will initially fund only one student at a time for four years of
college work. The UAM Scholarship Committee will select the recipient.
James A. Hudson Memorial. Funded by the James A. Hudson Memorial, Inc., and
awarded to a junior or senior student with a declared major in forestry.
W. W. and Anne Jones Scholarship. Funded in honor of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Jones by
the Jones Trust and awarded to a student with a declared major in forestry.
Ralph McQueen Accounting Award. Annual award made by Ralph McQueen &
Company, Ltd., of Dermott, Arkansas for an accounting major.
