IET 1703 Pneumatics & Hydraulics IET 1803 Basic Machine Shop MAT 1203 Technical Mathematics SER 1102 Introduction to Small Engines WLD 1102 Introduction to Welding Associate Of Applied Science In General Technology Industrial Equipment Maintenance Technical Certificate students may choose to earn an Associate of Applied Science in General Technology degree. There are two (2) options for completion of this degree plan; details of requirements for this degree are found in the Division of General Studies on page 148 in this catalog. Practical Nursing Technical Certificate The Practical Nursing (PN) program is approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing with regular evaluations to ensure a quality education in the nursing field. The program is designed to prepare qualified individuals to meet community nursing needs to perform those functions which are generally recognized as being within the scope of practical nursing and where the skill of registered nursing is not required. To be considered for the Practical Nursing Program, applicants must take the ASSET exam and score at or above the following: Reading, 40; Language, 40; and Math, 40. Equivalent ACT and COMPASS exam scores will also be accepted. All applicants meeting the required ASSET scores will be administered a one-time placement exam. The results of the placement exam will be ranked and the top applicants, not to exceed twenty-five (25) will be accepted into the Practical Nursing Program provided all of the following conditions are also met. 1. Submit all transcripts and proof of high school graduation or GED, 2. Attend a scheduled nursing career orientation, 3. Attend a Practical Nursing Program orientation, 4. Come for a personal interview, 5. Complete a Student Acknowledgement Statement form, 6. Submit three letters of recommendations, 7. Schedule and attend an individual Learning Assessment at the University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Technology at Crossett, 8. Attend two Study Skills sessions at the University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Technology at Crossett as scheduled, 9. Provide written evidence to measles and Rubella immunizations if you are born after January 1, 1957, 10. Submit written evidence of a current TB skin test (If the TB skin test is positive a chest x-ray is required), and 11. Provide a signed Hepatitis B acknowledgement waiver form or evidence of having all three required shots (or have taken at least the first of three shots prior to the beginning of class). NOTE: If candidates do not meet stated conditions, other candidates will be enrolled if all enrollment conditions are met. Alternates accepted will not exceed enrollment maximum.
