Bridge to <strong>College</strong> Math<br />

This 30-hour intensive math course will prepare you for<br />

college-level work. You will focus on pre-algebra, algebra,<br />

college-algebra, <strong>and</strong> coordinate geometry. You will be<br />

expected to complete in-class work, as well as homework<br />

assignments. Your teacher will guide you as you practice<br />

solving math questions. Through practice, you will gain<br />

academic skills needed for success in college.<br />

Bridge to <strong>College</strong> Reading<br />

<strong>and</strong> Writing<br />

In this 30-hour reading <strong>and</strong> writing course you will<br />

prepare for college-level work. You will read the novel,<br />

Ragtime, by E.L. Doctorow, <strong>and</strong> explore historical figures<br />

from the era including Henry Ford, Emma Goldman,<br />

Harry Houdini, J.P. Morgan, Scott Joplin, Stanford White,<br />

Winslow Homer, <strong>and</strong> Sigmund Freud. Through extensive<br />

reading <strong>and</strong> writing practice you will gain academic skills<br />

needed for success in college.<br />

potential career.<br />

This workshop will provide you with step-by-step<br />

presenter will provide parents with a h<strong>and</strong>out listing a<br />

variety of scholarships websites available for families.<br />

Credit for Prior Learning enables qualified students to receive academic credit<br />

for college-level learning acquired outside the classroom.<br />

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) may come from:<br />

• ON THE JOB TRAINING, such as training provided by employer's Human Resources or Training Departments.<br />

• TRADE OR PRIVATE SCHOOLS, such as Computer-related courses or Real Estate licensing.<br />

• EMPLOYMENT, such as starting or operating a business.<br />

• HOME OR COMMUNITY LEARNING EXPERIENCES, such as serving in a hospice program, or involvement in<br />

local political campaigns.<br />

• MILITARY TRAINING, such as Basic Recruit training, leadership training or active duty.<br />
