Division of Adult & Continuing Education @ LaGuardia Community College Pharmacy Technician Pharmacy Tech/Dietary Manager Food Service/Dietary Manager Are you interested in upgrading your skills in food service management? Would you like to become a Food Service Supervisor? To qualify for the Dietary Managers Evening Program, you must: 1. Have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate. 2. Be currently working in a food service department. 3. Have a registered dietitian who will act as your preceptor. The program is presented in three modules: fall, winter and spring. Each module runs for 10 weeks and includes 40 hours of lecture plus 50 hours of supervised fieldwork at the work site. Tue Jan 13 - Mar 17 (10 sessions/40 hours) 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm $299 A05DMG001A The Pharmacy Technician Program will prepare you to work in a variety of health care settings, including pharmacies and hospitals. It will also enable you to develop the skills and competencies needed to perform technical work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Medical terminology, prescriptions, drug compounding, conversions, IV flow and dosage calculations will be covered. This course is offered with Condensed Curriculum International, Inc., which provides textbooks, materials and placement assistance to successful completers of the program. Students will prepare for the national certification test given by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. Those who pass will become Certified Technicians.
