Introduction to AutoCAD on the
PC, Part 1
If you are a professional in the field or a student
interested in architecture and engineering, this course is
for you. Using AutoCAD LT 2002, you will learn basic and
intermediate concepts, shortcuts to speedier drawings,
plot, and how to create readable technical drawings from
actual sketches. You will receive a free text that parallels
the curriculum of the course. Prerequisite: familiarity with
Windows. Tuition for this course is $199 for students in
the construction program.

LaGuardia Graduate Returns as Instructor
Edward B. Farkas
Edward Farkas is a special alumnus—he graduated
from LaGuardia’s very first class in 1973! He returned
to his alma mater a few years ago to teach various
project management courses. Since earning his
Associate’s Degree at the college, he has done quite
well, going on to receive a BS Degree in Engineering
Management and attaining several certifications in
the industry.
Starting out as an engineer in the Port Authority
of New York and New Jersey, Mr. Farkas eventually
became a Project Manager there and branched out
to the private sector. Throughout his career, he has
managed projects in the U.S. and abroad. He is also
the author of over 35 published articles and the book
The Internet Project Manager: Practitioners Desk
Reference. “What’s great about Project Management
is that you can work in any state. The demand for
skilled practitioners is high,” he says.
