Green Bin
The following materials can be recycled using the green bin:

Flowers and plants
●

●
●
●
●
●
Grass cuttings
Hedge clippings
Leaves
Shrub prunings
Small amounts of shredded paper
Twigs and small branches
Weeds
Please use the green bin to recycle as many of these materials as often as possible.
The green bin will be emptied every two weeks.
Please note coffee grinds, tea bags, fruit and vegetable peelings can no longer be
collected in the green bin. For further advice visit www.angus.gov.uk/recycling

As well as asking you to recycle more materials more often we also want to continue to
collect good quality garden waste for composting.
To help us to do this please do not put any of the following into your green bin:

Plastic bags or liners
●
Animal faeces
●
Soil, turf or rubble
●
Large branches
●
Plant pots or polystyrene
●
General waste
●
Fruit and vegetable peelings
●
Coffee grinds and tea bags
Using peat-free/recycled compost prevents the damage and destruction of lowland
bogs and reduces the need for landfill as garden waste is recycled into a useful product.

If you have excess garden waste please take it to the nearest Recycling Centre.
Following Christmas you can recycle Christmas trees, simply by putting them in or beside
your green bin on your collection day or by taking them to your nearest Recycling Centre.
