Advantages of the new system will include<br />
improved communication between our<br />
operations to owner-drivers then onto our<br />
customers. It will provide direct links with our<br />
number one customer <strong>Mainfreight</strong> International<br />
as well as linking Owens Transport Australia<br />
administratively with the <strong>Mainfreight</strong> group.<br />

It is envisaged that a 24-hour operation will be<br />
implemented in our Brisbane operation once we<br />
are able to have a site that allows the storage of<br />
containers. Customer service remains our focus<br />
in our Brisbane office. We have in the past 6<br />
months increased our Brisbane team members<br />
within the operation to improve our service<br />
delivery and control in operations.<br />
Owens would like to thank all <strong>Mainfreight</strong> group<br />
team members for the growing support of our<br />
business. <strong>Mainfreight</strong> International is Owens<br />
number 1 customer and continues to grow.<br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>Mainfreight</strong> Logistics growth rate also<br />
continues to bring on new business. <strong>The</strong> Owens<br />
team must also offer support to group team<br />
members.<br />
Our Melbourne operation has continued to<br />
grow. With continued support from <strong>Mainfreight</strong><br />
International and external customer growth, it is<br />
felt that the business will double over the next 6<br />
months.<br />
Owens has been working closely with the<br />
<strong>Mainfreight</strong> IT department, modifying the New<br />
Zealand Port software system that will see<br />
significant benefits for not just the business but<br />
our customers and owner-drivers. This system<br />
will initially roll out in August this year and we<br />
encourage all team members to embrace the<br />
system positively.<br />

We are now heading into our busiest time of<br />
the year. We must all remain focused on the job<br />
in hand and ensure we continue to deliver the<br />
best possible service to our customers. Our aim<br />
is to be the number 1 wharf logistics provider<br />
across the Eastern Seaboard. This is achievable<br />
through hard work and great service.<br />
<strong>The</strong> whole Owens Transport Australia team<br />
should be happy in knowing they are part of<br />
a team that has turned the business into a<br />
profitable, market leader in the wharf logistics<br />
market across the eastern seaboard of<br />
Australia. This has been achieved through hard<br />
