Mission: The <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> Planning, Assessment, Research and Quality is responsible for strategic planning and accountability, institutional<br />

research and assessment, the Applied Research Center, quality initiatives and university policies. We employ a participatory,<br />

collaborative planning process and rigorous approach to research and assessment. Decisions are informed by data and reflect the needs<br />

<strong>of</strong> UW-<strong>Stout</strong> and our external clients. Our dedication to continuous quality improvement promotes intelligent risk taking and innovative<br />

thinking university-wide. Our transparent approach to sharing data and information demonstrates accountability to the university and the<br />

public.<br />

Highlights (20<strong>12</strong>-13):<br />

Institutional Planning<br />

‣ 2 new university priorities were initiated. Phase 1 <strong>of</strong> a supplemental compensation program was implemented, reallocating<br />

approximately $650,000 for salary adjustments.<br />

‣ 10 action plans were approved, with a total <strong>of</strong> 32 action items across all plans.<br />

‣ The Engagement Sessions were <strong>of</strong>fered in a new format for the second year, with approximately half <strong>of</strong> all faculty/staff attending.<br />

A total <strong>of</strong> 17 university-wide action items were implemented based on the feedback.<br />

‣ All colleges/major units completed strategic plans and presented them to the Chancellor’s Advisory Council.<br />

‣ 9 policies were revised or developed, and 2 more policies are in the review process.<br />

‣ More than 70% <strong>of</strong> performance indicator targets met or on track to be met by 2015.<br />

Analysis<br />

‣ The following projects were completed:<br />

o 14 university-wide surveys<br />

o 11 external surveys<br />

o <strong>12</strong>0 IR projects completed by PARQ staff<br />

o 164 graduate student projects completed<br />

o 431 projects completed by PARQ students<br />
