Professorships and Chairs
Reinhold and Borghild Eng Dahlgren Professorships
Established through an endowment that honors the Dahlgrens,
who graduated in 1916 and 1918 respectively from the Stout
Institute. The professorships assist faculty with scholarship
activities, public service and instruction.

Maybelle Ranney Price Professorship
Established in honor and memory of Maybelle Ranney Price
who died in 1993. Price received a bachelor’s degree in 1945
and a master’s degree in 1957 from Stout. The professorship
honors and assists faculty with scholarly initiatives.

Lenore Landry Apparel Design/Manufacturing Professorship
Established by Landry, a 1945 graduate in home economics
education, to retain and attract competent apparel design
faculty to UW-Stout. Landry, a UW System specialist, was
respected nationally for her expertise in textiles and clothing.
This is a three-year appointment.

G.A. Taft Manufacturing Engineering Professorship
Established in 1993 through a gift from Dr. Robert E. Quinn
and Esther Taft Quinn in honor of Esther’s father. G.A. Taft
was associated with the Dunn County News before co-founding
the Deluxe Check Printing Company in the Twin Cities. Taft’s
wife, Gertrude, attended what was then the Stout Institute in the
early 1900s. This is a three-year appointment.
