University of Wisconsin-Stout 2012-13 Fact Book Student Data Enrollments Highlights (Fall 2012): ‣ 50% of students were female, 77% were full-time, 8% were minority students, 89% were undergraduates, and 22% were nontraditional students. ‣ Of the undergraduates, 48% were female, 83% were full-time, 8% were minority students, and 17% were non-traditional. Of the graduates, 70% were female, 24% were full-time, 9% were minority students and 66% were non-traditional. ‣ Of the 9,247 students, 6,513 were continuing students, 1,877 were new students, 712 were transfer students and 145 were reentry students. New students include new freshmen, new graduate students, new special students and high school students that take classes at UW-Stout. ‣ Of the 1,009 transfer students in the 11-12 academic year, 299 were from out of state, 384 were from WI Technical Colleges, 139 were from University of Wisconsin (UW) four year universities, 105 were from UW colleges, 55 were international and 27 were from WI private colleges. ‣ The average age of the undergraduate and graduate students was 23 and 37, respectively. ‣ 6,131 of the students were from Wisconsin, with the largest number of students from Dunn, Eau Claire and St. Croix counties. Students are from 42 different countries and 47 states in addition to Wisconsin. ‣ The undergraduate programs with the largest enrollments were: business administration; hotel, restaurant & tourism management; management; studio art; and engineering technology, respectively. The graduate programs with the largest enrollments were: education, vocational rehabilitation, and mental health counseling, respectively. Office of Planning, Assessment, Research & Quality 14
