Training Tidbits<br />
• New hires - 56 hours of training: Safety<br />
Training-Warehouse, Safety Training-Office,<br />
and Lean Six Sigma and Phone Etiquette<br />
modules.<br />
• Kansas City presented CED and OHD training<br />
sessions with participants from the<br />
Kansas City, Atlanta, and Las Vegas divisions.<br />
• <strong>DH</strong><strong>Pace</strong> team members <strong>at</strong>tended many<br />
vendor training sessions during the <strong>quarter</strong>,<br />
both on- and off-site. <strong>Company</strong>-wide team<br />
members <strong>at</strong>tended 662.25 hours of vendorbased<br />
training.<br />
• Seventy-eight and a half hours of other internal<br />

• Smith Systms Refresher<br />
• Fire Door Drop Test<br />
• OSHA 30-hour Construction<br />
• The <strong>Pace</strong> University Team, in conjunction<br />

NFPA 80-2007/Fire Check training to a<br />
group of codes/fire prevention industry end<br />
users. Approxim<strong>at</strong>ely 28 individuals <strong>at</strong>tended<br />
this event.<br />
• Division Human Resources Represent<strong>at</strong>ives<br />
came to Kansas City to learn the new UltiPro<br />
Performance Management software.<br />

Atlanta<br />
• In early October 2009, department managers<br />
presented Smith Systems Refresher<br />
to a group of 17 team members.<br />
Denver<br />
• Horton’s Kirk Tierce hosted a Lunch-n-<br />
Learn. The topic of discussion was Autom<strong>at</strong>ic<br />
Door Applic<strong>at</strong>ions.<br />
• Curt Cummings, <strong>DH</strong><strong>Pace</strong> Corpor<strong>at</strong>e Safety<br />
Manager, presented OSHA 30-Hour Construction.<br />
• Bob Stephens, OHD Sr. VP-Oper<strong>at</strong>ions, conducted<br />
a Fire Door Drop Test training session.<br />
Kansas City<br />
• Bob Karrer, with Von Duprin, presented a<br />
Lunch-n-Learn session covering Exit Devices<br />
and LCN Door Closers.<br />
• Becky Raffety conducted a session on Call<br />
Management Upd<strong>at</strong>es. She also presented<br />
a session on the UltiPro Performance Management<br />
to her team members.<br />
• David Hildebrand, with Assa Abloy, presented<br />
m<strong>at</strong>erial on Hurricane-Coastal<br />
Windstorm Codes: Hollow Metal and<br />

St. Louis<br />
• Two team members completed the Fire<br />
Door Inspectors training. Congr<strong>at</strong>ul<strong>at</strong>ions<br />

• Seven individuals <strong>at</strong>tended the Optex Technologies,<br />
Inc./Sensors for Autom<strong>at</strong>ic Doors<br />
session presented by Scott Robinson.<br />
• In November 2009, Mike Killian, with Albany<br />
High Speed Doors, delivered a short<br />
present<strong>at</strong>ion on Ameren UE Energy Reb<strong>at</strong>e<br />
for High Speed Doors.<br />
• AD-Seriers Lever Electronic Access Control<br />
Locks was the topic of discussion for <strong>10</strong><br />
team members and Ingersoll-Rand represent<strong>at</strong>ives.<br />
Tempe<br />
• Seven team members <strong>at</strong>tended RS2 Training,<br />
presented by Ty Caudill.<br />
• John Dobradenka, with Panasonic, delivered<br />
Onssi/I-Pro training.<br />
• Pelco’s John Cossman conducted CCTV<br />
training.<br />
• Access Control training was presented by<br />

Dependent Insurance Audit Coming Soon<br />
As previously announced, in the upcoming weeks you will receive inform<strong>at</strong>ion from Loctkon<br />
Benefit Group regarding a dependent insurance audit. PLEASE DO NOT DIS-<br />
CARD THE INFORMATION. All employees with dependent coverage will be required<br />
to submit document<strong>at</strong>ion to verify the st<strong>at</strong>us of their dependents.<br />
Wh<strong>at</strong> is a dependent insurance audit?<br />
A dependent insurance audit is performed to verify the eligibility of our dependents receiving<br />
healthcare benefits through D.H. <strong>Pace</strong>. The audit will be conducted to verify the<br />
accuracy of our current records to ensure the company is complying with our fudicial<br />
and legal duties.<br />
Who will conduct the audit?<br />
D.H. <strong>Pace</strong> has contracted with Lockton Benefit Group to conduct the dependent insurance<br />
audit. Lockton is the world’s largest, priv<strong>at</strong>ely-owned, independence insurance<br />
broker. Lockton was founded in Kansas City, Mo., in 1966 and since th<strong>at</strong> time has<br />
grown to become the <strong>10</strong>th largest insurance brokerage firm in the world.<br />
