The meeting was called to order at 7:08 PM.<br />

The minutes from the July meeting were reviewed. A motion to accept the minutes were<br />
made by Joe Paladino, seconded by Tony Vechiola, and was passed unanimously.<br />
President’s Report – Len Hardy<br />

Len reported that Dance has a new board of directors.<br />

There is an issue with the BHS booster club website. Len is working with the hosting facility to<br />
resolve the issue.<br />
Athletic Director’s Report – Dan Kallenbach<br />

Cross Country (Girls) – Paul Pennignton<br />
Girls Tennis – Gloria Alfred. An assistant tennis coach is still needed.<br />
Swimming – Mary Schleicher<br />
Registration numbers are up for the fall activities.<br />
There were discussions about the coaching cuts that were made last year. At this point in<br />
time, these coaches can not be hired backed. Volunteers can be used if they are ACEP<br />
certified or certified teachers and a background check is performed.<br />
With South Elgin high school open, there will be scheduling conflicts at Millennium field.<br />
There are 3 high schools that use this field, BHS, Streamwood, and South Elgin. This will<br />
affect JV football and some soccer games.<br />
The new sound system has been installed in the gym and sounds great.<br />
Treasurer’s Report – Bob Pastor<br />

There were no reports available for the meeting.<br />
The 2004/2005 year has been closed. We have started the 2005/2006 year. July has not<br />
been completed, as of yet. Check requests will be processed of the next few days.<br />

Communications – Joe Paladino<br />

The phone line at Millennium Field has been turned on and needs to be verified.<br />
There will be a Blue Green scrimmage broadcast on 8/19, from 6:00 – 7:30 PM.<br />
If a club has something that they would like to have announced, please let Joe know.<br />

Additional banners will need to be purchased for Dance, for 1 st & 4 th place finishes.<br />
As of this point in time, there is no one to run the concession stand. If there are no<br />
volunteers, there will be no concessions.<br />
Dance – Debbie Buchmiller<br />

Dance would like to sell candy at registration. Dan will follow up on this to determine<br />
if this is possible.<br />
Debbie made a motion to have a dance workshop, on 9/24, from 9:00 -1:00 or 10:00<br />
– 2:00. Dan will follow up to verify availability. Dan Palmer seconded the motion and<br />
it was unanimously approved.<br />

Debbie stated that Dance would like to give the General <strong>Booster</strong> <strong>Club</strong> the Tuition<br />
Raffle as a possible fund raiser. This would be to help offset the steak fry. Len<br />
stated that this will be further discussed at the September meeting to obtain additional<br />
buy in from the remaining clubs.<br />
Debbie asked if Dance could institute a uniform usage charge. She wanted to know if<br />
any precedent has been set that would prevent the group from doing this. Dan will<br />
follow up on what other schools do.<br />
Debbie asked Dan if the Dance team can wear their uniforms to school. There was<br />
some discussion with the S.E. coach and it was stated that these could not be worn to<br />
school. Dan was unaware of this and stated that Dance could wear their uniforms to<br />
school.<br />
Cheerleading – Tami Mercandte<br />
<br />
Tami made a motion to allow Cheerleading to hold a 9/11 memorial concert at the<br />
Gazebo, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. They will sell hot dogs, lemonade, and popcorn. They<br />
are suggesting a $5 donation. Joe Paladino seconded the motion and it was<br />
unanimously approved.<br />
Tami made a motion to allow Cheerleading to sell necklaces & carnation on 9/28,<br />
9/29 & 9/30 in school, during lunch hours. Joe Paladino seconded the motion and it<br />
was unanimously approved.<br />

Old Business<br />
Cheerleading will sell Hawk ware this year. They will be selling this at freshman<br />
orientation on 8/17.<br />
Tami asked if the website hosting bill can be sent to BHS. Bob will follow up with<br />
Tami on this.<br />

Len stated that the sound system has been completed. The booster club & the senior<br />
class have split the cost of this. A special thanks goes out to Jim Andresen for all of<br />
his help.<br />
Len discussed the pizza vendor bidding. An unsolicited bid was received from Village<br />
Pizza. Listed below if the pricing received.<br />
o Pasta Mia $9 + a delivery fee of $2<br />
o Village Pizza $7.50 cheese / $8.50 sausage and no delivery charge<br />

The objective of the booster club is to receive the best product at the best<br />
price for all clubs.<br />
There was some discussion regarding this and a decision will be tabled,<br />
until the September meeting. In the interim, football will continue to sue<br />
Pasta Mia.<br />
Len stated that membership mailings was completed. There are 3,000 forms being<br />
mailed out at a cost of $665.<br />
Len stated that the donation to the S.E. booster club will be given on 8/16, at 7:00 PM.<br />
The football booster club, Bridget, discussed the issues that arose regarding the<br />
football kick off dinner. The dinner was required to change its original date that was<br />
planned and communicated to everyone. Dan will talk with Mark Leffler about this<br />
issue and get back to football on this.<br />
Mike stated that the Examiner needs the lists of all planned activities to have these<br />
posted in the newspaper. Len will provide this to them.<br />
Mike stated that a new distribution has been created. Please review & update with<br />
your proper contact information.<br />
Joe asked Dan Palmer what the police procedures were regarding getting into the<br />
concession stand. Dan recommended Joe contact the Streamwood police<br />
department regarding this.<br />
Dan discussed the issue with the fall program brochure. There was a disagreement<br />
between Royal versus APC for producing this for this year. It was determined that we<br />
will use Royal for this year.<br />
Tony Vechiola motioned to adjourn the meeting. The motioned was seconded by Joe Paladino<br />
and was approved unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM.<br />
