What is <strong>Know</strong> The <strong>Score</strong>?<br />
<strong>Know</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Score</strong> is <strong>the</strong> corporate brand for media campaigns, a website, a 24-hour<br />
information line and drug information materials, which links toge<strong>the</strong>r all national<br />
and local organisations involved in tackling drugs misuse in Scotland.<br />
<strong>Know</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Score</strong> spans a broad range <strong>of</strong> partnership activities; its fundamental<br />
aim is to sign-post <strong>the</strong> public towards quality information and advice about drugs<br />
misuse across Scotland.<br />
<strong>Know</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Score</strong> is used by <strong>the</strong> Scottish Executive, national agencies and local<br />
bodies for information campaigns and materials. This draws on best practice to<br />
ensure access to consistent and reliable information.<br />
About this <strong>Directory</strong><br />
This <strong>Directory</strong> is divided into three separate sections; National Organisations,<br />
Drug Action Teams and Local and Community <strong>Services</strong>.<br />
National organisations are made up <strong>of</strong> a range <strong>of</strong> key partners who are involved in<br />
tackling drugs in Scotland. Many <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m produce materials about <strong>the</strong> work <strong>the</strong>y are<br />
involved in at a national and local level.<br />
Drug Action Teams are <strong>the</strong> focal point for local action on drug misuse.<br />
They comprise <strong>of</strong> representatives from key agencies involved in tackling drug<br />
misuse locally, including local authorities, police, health services, prisons and<br />
voluntary sector organisations. As a central point <strong>of</strong> contact, <strong>the</strong>y can provide<br />
details about a number <strong>of</strong> local initiatives and services.<br />
Many local and community services exist across Scotland and <strong>of</strong>fer specialist<br />
help, support and advice to meet a range <strong>of</strong> needs relating to drugs misuse.<br />
A number <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m provide specific information and guidance on drugs issues.<br />
The <strong>Directory</strong> has been produced by <strong>the</strong> Scottish Drugs Forum (SDF) in association<br />
