AZTECH 200Mbps HOMEPLUG FOR SINGTEL IPTV
Singapore, 20 Aug 2007 – Singapore Stock Exchange Main Board Listed Aztech Systems Ltd
(“Aztech”), a data and voice communications solutions provider is pleased that its latest 200Mbps
HomePlug is the preferred choice for networking product powering SingTel’s Internet Protocol
Television (“IPTV”) service. Stamping another key milestone for the powerline adapter product
range, the contract win is its first local HomePlug order, and is for 10,000 pairs (20,000 units) to
power the next generation of digital entertainment that SingTel is providing to homeowners.
Aztech is honoured to partner SingTel yet again, stemming from a relationship that started almost
8 years ago when the Group provided ADSL modems.
IPTV is primarily a digital television service delivered by a broadband
connection. With SingTel’s offering named mio TV, users watch
television programmes streamed from the Internet direct to the
television set via a set-top box. Unlike other services which require
customers to be tied to programme schedules and rigid basic tier
packages, mio TV allows subscribers full flexibility to watch what they
want, when they want. Other key benefits include features like full High
Definition Content, with full interactivity to carry out scheduled recording
of programmes.
Due to the demanding requirement of high speed and consistent data
transfer speeds required, the HomePlug technology is the best and
easiest solution to set up an IPTV connection via Powerline
communications. Plugging a pair of Aztech’s 200Mbps HomePlug into
any existing power socket, homeowners enjoy the ease of streaming Internet video to different
parts of the home, without having to run unsightly cables to link the broadband connection to the
IPTV set-top box.
