POST-Constructed Comprehensive Module II End-of-Course Proficiency Test on the

Incorporate revised peace officer and public safety dispatcher selection standards
regulations and procedures into new chapter of re-designed PAM.
4/02/09 9070 9077 Professional Certificates and Certificate Replacement. Regulation 9070(k)(6) was
amended to clarify experience requirements for issuance of multiple certificates,
Supervisory, Management, and Executive. Language to show that experience must
be in permanent positions was also added, and will be counted at “higher levels.
Regulation 9077 was amended to clarify how POST reissues POST Certificates.

minimum content and hours for Basic Course Learning Domains 7, 9, 17, & 33.
1/01/09 1005 Continuing Professional Training (CPT). This changes individual anniversary dates
to a single statewide anniversary date to accommodate quarterly or biennial training
schedules in use throughout the state. It also provides POST staff a clear window to
track CPT hours for the purpose of compliance audits

POST Basic Courses Test Administration and Security Guidelines Language was
added to incorporate the POST Basic Courses Test Administration and Security
Guidelines- 2008 by reference into Regulations 1005, 1007, and 1008 and
Procedures D-1 and D-10.

12/07/08 1005 Airport Peace Officer Basic Training. This amendment to Regulation 1005 specifies
that airport peace officers must complete two basic training requirements – Aviation
Security and the Regular Basic Course (RBC).
11/15/08 1081 Child Safety When a Caretaker, Parent, or Guardian is Arrested. Penal Code
§13517.7 directed the Commission to develop guidelines and training for use by
state and local law enforcement officers in addressing issues related to child safety
when a caretaker, parent, or guardian is arrested. These guidelines amended
Regulation 1081.

Training Specifications for Investigation and Trial Preparation Courses. Amendments
made to the Training Specifications for the Investigation and Trial Preparation
Course publication resulting in amendments to Regulation 1005 and Procedure D-
14.
11/01/08 1081 Hate Crimes Framework and Policy. The updated hate crimes policy guidelines and
requirements for every state local law enforcement department appear in Regulation
1081, Legislatively-Mandated Training.

Employment Status Notification. States that a Notice of Appointment/Termination
(NOAT) application may be submitted via the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
system. Most employing departments have (EDI) - an efficient and cost effective way
for information to be submitted. Departments without EDI availability may still mail a
NOAT to POST.

4/14/08 1081 Human Trafficking Training. Penal Code §13519.14 directed the Commission to
implement a course of instruction for training California law enforcement officers in
the handling of human trafficking complaints and to develop guidelines for the law
enforcement response to human trafficking. These guideline topics are now in
Regulation 1081.

Mandatory Academy Instructor Certificate Program participation for Regular Basic
Course(RBC) academies and academy instructors. RBC instructors appointed prior
to 3/01/08 must possess Academy Instructor Certificates by 3/01/11. RBC instructors
appointed after 3/01/08 must possess Academy Instructor Certificates prior to
teaching RBC. Shows the Academy Instructor Development Course requirements
that were replaced by the AICC.
