A GRAND WELCOME TO ALL NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS!!
CLASSES START TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 4TH
We hope you all had wonderful summer and are ready and geared up for a new Fall Season of Dance!
We at Spiral are so excited to get our lovely dancers back into the studio! Faculty members have been busy,
prepping all their creative choreography ideas to be able to jump right in, come next week.
In an effort to streamline the schedule, we really appreciate the understanding and accommodating of changes of
times and days for some of our classes. Thank You!!
The Office Team has been busy as well, making sure we have everyone in the right class for next weeks start. If
there are any additions or subtractions to your schedule, it is important these be formalized in writing by emailing
both Loretta info@spiraldance.ca and Sarah admin@spiraldance.ca the office will then make adjustments to your
billing and payments.
We are aware that some dancers will be trying out certain classes that may not be on their present schedule. It is
important to speak with the teacher after class so they can bring additions to the offices attention.
It is strongly encouraged, and of the utmost importance, to communicate directly with Loretta if you have any

NEW CLASS – TURNS AND JUMPS MONDAY 7:30-8:30
Free for the month of September – Come Try!
Open to levels Pre Co II, Pre Co I, Apprentice and Intermediate Teens.
*After watching the excitement and enthusiasm of our dancers in a combined Turns and Jumps class at our
Summer Intensive we have opened it up for any dancers in the above levels to come and try this class. Free for the
month of September – a little inspirational gift!

COMPETITIONS:
The following competitions are what we are strongly looking at for this season.
Note: dates may be subject to change.
1. Dance Power: March 5-10
Micheal J. fox Theatre
ALL GROUPS, as well as any solos/duos/trios
2. Synergy Dance Convention: April 15-21
2013 Bell Centre Surrey
All GROUPS, as well as any solos/duos/trios
3. Peak Invitational: Whistler B.C. May 17—20 Westin Resort
ALL GROUPS with the exception of PRE –JUNIOR

SURREY FESTIVAL OF DANCE:
• In the past we have entered some of our groups into Surrey Festival as long as there were no conflicts with
other competitions. Below are the anticipated Surrey Festival Dates.
It looks like there may not by any conflict during the Jazz/lyrical & Hip Hop section. …Keep these dates in mind,
we will canvas each group and possibly add it to our Competition Schedule.
Surrey Festival of Dance:
Jazz April 2-10
Hip Hop/Street April 6
Modern/Contemporary April 11 16
Tap & Stage April 2230
No Borders Group Dance Challenge & Honour Awards May 11 2013
SOLO’S, DUO’S, TRIO’S interested in entering Surrey can do so with consent by Loretta. Typically we suggest
only dancers with competitive solo/duo/trio experience, as it cannot be guaranteed an instructor will always be in
attendance. More senior dancers are familiar with the setting at Surrey and as well a teacher is not required to play
the music.
NOTE: Spring Break & Easter Long Weekend are combined March 17April 1st.
NO Competitions will be scheduled during this time.
MAY LONG WEEKEND IS PEAK INVITATIONAL COMPETITION IN WHISTLER.
DO NOT SCHEDULE ANY FAMILY EVENTS DURING THESE DATES.

DVD’S: For those who purchased the Recital DVD and you received the Thursday June 14th Disc’s, please note
that if there is a problem with either of them, we have replacements at the office. Shawn apologizes for any
inconvenience.

PARKING:
• No stopping or parking, at any time, in front of studio doors
• You are encouraged to utilize Russell Street to park and walk your lovelies to the studio.
• If you have business with our administration staff or are staying for viewing purposes use Russell and leave
the parking stalls for quick drop off and pick up.
My neighbors in the building, the Fitness Training and Flower Shop are great people and we have a great rapport. I
don't want to upset them by using all the parking stalls. Thank you for you cooperation and consideration!
