Our Objective<br />
To provide high school career and<br />
technical education students with<br />
the opportunity to gain practical,<br />
first-hand knowledge through a<br />
structured internship experience
Why?<br />
• Provides an answer to the question, “Why do I<br />
have to learn this?”<br />
• Demonstrates a commitment to supporting and<br />
improving the local community<br />
• Confirms the importance of good grades,<br />
attendance, responsibility, work ethics, and<br />
positive attitude<br />
• Sends students back to the classroom aware of<br />
current practices and thereby improving the<br />
quality of the classroom experience

<strong>Program</strong> Parameters<br />
• Applicants must be enrolled in a <strong>CTE</strong> program<br />
• Work takes place during and after school for up<br />
to 5 hours per day<br />
• <strong>Student</strong>s are interviewed by the hiring<br />
department<br />
• Wages are paid from special project funds at no<br />
charge to the hiring department<br />
• Grades are determined by job performance
Targeted <strong>Student</strong>s<br />
• Motivated <strong>CTE</strong> students seeking realworld<br />
work experience<br />
• Rising high school seniors<br />
• Recommended by their <strong>CTE</strong> teacher<br />
• Possess a valid Florida driver’s license<br />
