About us
Our history
Gold Coast District Cricket Club
The Gold Coast District Cricket Club ‐ 'The Dolphins' ‐ was formed in 1990 to provide an opportunity for cricketers in the
Gold Coast/Tweed region to play at the elite level of cricket in Queensland and strive for representative honours. The Club
is the only district club in the Gold Coast region and fields teams in Queensland Cricket’s Grade Competition, including the
Premier Grade (1 st Grade). The Club is affiliated to Cricket Gold Coast Limited, the coordinating body for cricket in the
Region.
The Club’s Mission Statement is to provide the opportunity for any cricketer in the Gold Coast and Tweed Districts to
compete in the highest level of cricket for which he or she is capable of playing and to help foster, develop, co‐ordinate and
promote the game of cricket in the Gold Coast and Tweed Districts.
Since its inception, the Club has been home to a number of Queensland and Australian players, including former Test
cricketers Craig McDermott, Andrew Symonds and Scott Muller. For the 2012/13 season, Andrew Robinson, Michael
Neser, Brad Ipson and Nick Stevens all had State contracts. The Dolphins also boast a number of current Australian and
Queensland representatives at youth level.
The Club
In 2013/14, the Club plans to field 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd and 4 th Grade teams in the Brisbane Grade Competition. Other teams include
Under 16s who play in Queensland Cricket’s Lord Taverner’s Competition and a Women’s team.
The Club boasts a modern clubhouse overlooking the picturesque Kerrydale Oval at Robina. Our experienced curator
always produces a high standard wicket and the sand based oval has excellent drainage which always provides batsmen
with value for shots. Practice facilities include three synthetic nets alongside a floodlit turf practice wicket facility.
The Club is looking for expressions of interest from suitably qualified coaches or player/coaches to join our coaching panel.
