Three high schools in the City of
Bayswater accommodate school
John Forrest and Morley senior high
schools. Chaplains also work from
$25,000 is used to provide this
service to schools in the City
of Bayswater.
Community Housing
Program
The City of Bayswater‘s
Community Housing Program
(CHP) was established in
partnership with the Department
of Housing and Works (DHW)
in 1994. The City manages
10 units and provides quality,
affordable housing for selected
local community members who
meet the eligibility criteria for
community housing. Most units
have long standing tenants with
one unit being vacated this year
providing a home to a new tenant.
Major upgrades and improvements
were completed during the year in
order to maintain a high standard
and to meet the City’s continuous
improvement objectives.
Sportslink program
In 2008, the City’s Disability Access
and Inclusion Advisory Committee
opportunity to participate in a range
of sporting activities to develop
skills, engage in social interaction,
gain confidence in group situations
and increase confidence in
their abilities.
A collaborative approach
between the City and a number
Coordinators), Recreation & Sport
Network, local primary schools,
Edith Cowan University (ECU)
- Sports Science unit, Therapy
Focus and the YMCA helped to
promote the program and to recruit
young participants.
Community bus hire
service
The City provided a community
bus hire service to not-for-profit
community groups in the area. The
aim of the service was to provide
affordable access to activities and
