Grand Master visits Lodge No 108
Grand Master Joseph B. Harker and Deputy Grand Master Davey L.
White, Jr., visited Neosho-Mayville-Horicon Lodge No. 108 for an EA
Degree on October 16. Grand Master Harker reminded us to "meet
on the level" as Masons. The degree was well attended and a lunch of
chili and sub sandwiches was served by Bro. Jeff Millikin. Pictured
West Bend Lodge Worshipful Master Nick Mueller (center) extended a
fraternal greeting to visiting Philippine Masons Harris Lalwani (left)
and Steve Hilger (right) at the Lodge’s October 14 meeting. Both are
members of Leonardo T. Panares Lodge No. 220 located in Cugayan
de Oro City on Mindanao, the largest island in the Philippines. In
token of his visit, Brother Lalwani presented West Bend Lodge with
monitors for the three degrees conferred in Panares Lodge. Bro.
Harris is Vice President of Marketing for the Plumbline Development
Corporation in Cagayan de Oro City. Brother Hilger, a former member
of Lake Lodge in Milwaukee, moved to the Philippines in 2004 so
that his wife Nilly, a Philippino by birth, could be near her family.
They recently returned to Wisconsin and now make their home in
West Bend. Bro. Steve explained that there are approximately 350
lodges and 10,000 Masons in the country. They are attired in
barongs, typical Masonic garb for attending lodge. Grand Lodge officers
do wear tuxedos but the warm, humid climate makes the loosefitting
white clothing more practical for normal lodge functions.
Historical Grand
Lodge Proceedings
and Documents
By Bro. Martin Burkhardt
Virginia Falls Lodge No. 226,
Merrill, has almost a complete set
of Grand Lodge proceedings dating
back to 1904. They're paperback
but in surprisingly readable
form considering the age.
They also have Masonic
Codes; Constitution Laws and
Edicts of the GL; reports of committees;
copies of Grand Master
Reports to the GL; lists of members;
programs from Annual
Communications; and Pamphlets
on Masonic Research. Grand
Secretary
Grand Secretary Michael
DeWolf, PGM, has cleared all of
this for disposal.
We would like to see it go to a
brother with an interest in history,
rather than be recycled.
Cost would be whatever is
incurred driving to Merrill to pick
it up. Contact: Bro. Martin
