Clintonville Lodge
Helps Santa Claus
By Bro. Vernon Beall
Clintonville Lodge No.
197 will help Santa this
year. Worshipful Master
Rusty Mitchell and Senior
Warden Dan Jesse presented
24 bicycles to be delivered
to boys and girls for
Christmas. Lodge members
voted to support Free
Wheeling, a program to
give bikes to boys and girls
from needy families. This is
the second year for the
program.
Bro. Tom Lederer, working
with Goodfellows, a
local charitable organization
that delivers food to
needy families has agreed
to participate in the bike
program. Goodfellows will
select boys and girls of various
ages from more than
200 needy families. They
will supervise the delivery
of each bike.
Bro. Rusty Mitchell said,
"This year we are even giving
a child's tricycle for the
first time. “We had a goal
Wisconsin
Masonic Charities
William H. Barnes
Director of Development
of 12 bikes to be given, but
through local community
efforts, we are able to double
that number and make
two dozen children happy
on Christmas morning. “It
gives all the Brothers in our
Lodge a better feeling for
this holiday season."
Bro. Dan Jesse assisted
Bro. Vernon Beall to see
the project through. Bro.
Beall said, “We are a small
lodge in number, but we
manage to do things that
would make any brother
proud. “This bike for kids
program has touched a lot
of hearts in our community.
“I would also like to
thank Bro. Rich Rygh for
his timely article in
November's Masonic
Journal. “He helped to
spread the word of our bike
program and contributed
greatly to its success."
The Clintonville Lodge
has expressed interest to
see the program continue
next year.
