Introduction State of the City: Coventry 2009 ‘State of the City: Coventry in 2009’ provides a snapshot of life in the city. It illustrates the latest economic and social trends that have an impact on the quality of life in Coventry and is based on data and information from a wide range of sources. The summary and full version of State of the City also provides information on transport; street and neighbourhoods; and culture and sport.The contents are not exhaustive but form the basis for any further planning or policy development in the coming months. The summary version provides an indication of what is contained in the full State of the City in 2009 document and some of the key information on Coventry.There are nine chapters including information on population changes and demographics; the local economy; and health. Further chapters are also summarised on community safety; children and young people; and housing.
